NOTE: I don't want you meatballs listing off robberies here. This thread is for controversial decisions - where opinion is essentially split on who won the fight.

    Does anything match Hagler/Leonard?

Depends how you define it. Hagler - Leonard was a close fight which could have gone either way depending what style you preferred. Controversial to me means one guy CLEARLY won, where it's impossible to make a case for the other guy, yet still loses the decision.

AgREED. I think our resident Canuck means 'contentious' rather than 'controversial'. And Hagler-Leonard is pretty damn near the top of that list for me.

    Ike vs. DLH

I still strongly believe Ike won that fight. He certainly didn't do himself any favour getting thrashed in the last round like that... but i thought he built up a big lead and it's been a source of a lot of debate since it happened. not a robbery either way, close and good (imo) fight... really felt Ike won it

Opinion was split as to who won that fight? The only person who though Holy won was Eugene Williams...

Good call. Oscar has quite a few, actually. Quartey, Tito, Pea, Mosley II. Plenty of split opinions on all those fights.

    Nah, I mean controversy.

Definition - dispute, argument, or debate, esp one concerning a matter about which there is strong disagreement and esp one carried on in public or in the press

Alright I read it again and I see what you mean.

What about Morales-Barrera??? I remember opinions being pretty divided on that one

Very true. I actually have debated hours with people over the results of those fights.

For the record: Ike W12 DLH, Trinidad D12 DLH, Pea W12 DLH, DLH W12 Mosley II, imo

De La Hoya - Mosley 2
    Pacquiao - Marquez 3

I thought Pea and Tito were both scored for the wrong man. I don't have a problem with Oscar getting the nod vs. Quartey, but I do take issue with wide scoring margins.

I don't feel strongly about Oscar/Mosley II either way. Depends what you like.

Must you always add the "s" to Eubank?

I hope you're consistent with this and call Robinson "Smith" and Walcott "Cream".

Yes, I must. I grew up with him being called Eubanks. It's what I am used to calling him...

It's not that I hate British fighters (Lennox Lewis is my favourite boxer ever) - it's that I like to point out your blind loyalty to them.

    Good examples.

I don't have blind loyalty to them at all. I hate DeGale, hated Eubanks, hated Naz (and loved his schooling vs MAB), have picked against Froch in almost every top-level fight he's ever had (including v Ward this month), hated Calzaghe for years, have come to despise Haye (and backed Wlad to KO him to the tune of near a grand) etc etc

    Oh, and Lennox is Canadian...

Nice. That's what I'm talking about.

Would you guys agree that Hagler/Leonard is #1?
