Why the main villain is a sexy beautiful gal? They should have tossed there someone like James Gandolfini with a growing beard and that would have felt more menacing. While he still reminds of Stallone, Karl Urban is a decent actor, so maybe it will be watchable.

Looks dumb and the tough guy voice actually sounds worse then listening too Christen Bale do his hoarse whisperer routine in the Dark Knight films. The trailer makes the film look like they're jumping in the middle of a story. Still towards the end it seemed kind of cool when he started handing down judgements. I'm iffy on whether to see it or not.

Judge Dredd is a boring character. What's the insistence on doing another movie??

Judge Dredd's cool! Loved the Dredd comics as a kid...half-liked the Stallone movie they did back in the 90s...and this one looks horrendous.

    And cheap. Really cheap.

Whoa! You never watched the 'gun kata' executed by the clerics? Christian Bale in his best pre-Batman role. He graduated from hearthrob in period pieces to badass action star in this interesting twist to the Farenheit 451 storyline. Very good film.

DONT WATCH THIS VIDEO IT WILL SPOIL THE MOVIE FOR YOU

After watching that movie I thought how fucking epic the matrix would've been with Bale instead of Keanu.

Yeah Dredd could be an awesome story if they would just develop a decent script for it and focus on the coolest aspect of it. The fact that their police force act as judge jury and executioner on the spot. The first Dredd movie completely dropped the ball on show casing that aspect and this one seems like they'll hit on it a bit. Even still, it's a sci fi set in the future. Don't know how they can manage to screw it up twice.

The first one was just horrible and probably the biggest mistake was going with a super duper star like Stallone who just wound up being too big for that character. Also the piece of shit script it had didn't help either.

From what I can see, Mega City One is just a huge flat wasteland with a few massive tower-blocks here and there. :dunno:

    Cheap. And crap.

If you're going to do it, at least try and do it fucking properly for fuck's sake. :shit:

Ah seen it last night - it was boss! It's the first film Ah can remember in ages being an '18' rating and the violence even shocked this Glasgow weegie. A lot was made of the Judges being able tae dispense justice and the 'lawgiver' gun is magnificent. Examples of the violence include people being skinned, slow motion, 3D close-ups of bullets being shot through mouths and heads being burnt from the inside oot! Jings!

MegaCity One does look a wee bit too post-apocolyptic fer ma taste, but, as most of the action takes place inside just one Block the claustrophobic atmosphere of a high crime future is expertly presented. There are some great details fer Dredd fans, such as the names of the Blocks (many of the old 2000AD artists), graffiti, refs tae 'Resyke' and Otto Sump stores etc.

Good film that will appeal tae all those who treasure brutality within the safety of thez own hoose.

This film has the approval of John Wagner (Dredd creator) so that's good enough fer me and Ah hope there's a sequel wi the Dark Judges.
