The 1st and 3rd were the best.

    The 2nd one was meehhhh.

The 4th was good, but not as good as the original, and 3rd.

1st - Arguably the greatest action film ever.

2nd - A huge follow up disappointment and never had much replay value.

3rd - Not a bad film with much better replay value then the 2nd. The addition of Samuel L. Jackson for his style and comedic touch probably made the film much better then had Willis gone it alone.

4th - Not too sure about this one. I only watched it once which tells you two things. The replay value is lacking and I wasn't very impressed with it, so in that vein I'd rate it behind 3 but ahead of 2.

5th - I'm certain I'll just download it rather than go to the movies. Willis (and this franchise) are at the old man point just like Neeson where he probably needs a double to show him do any real running. If the bad guys can't kill him now they just aren't professionals and he must be going up against gang bangers or something.

As a franchise I definitely prefer the Lethal Weapon movies. Gibson and Glover are like Ebony & Ivory together and their chemistry just make the LW films better than the DH ones. However none of the LW movies can touch DH 1 so Willis does have that going for him.

:bears:My exact thoughts, except that to me #4 was a forgettable movie, way below #2. This teaser trailer didn't did anything for me. I'll probably wait for the Redbox release.

You forgot to add the fact that Jeremy Irons also made the 3rd one very good.

And the Lethal Weapon movies are fuckin GAYYY!!!

I have an idea. Why don't you put your opinions in your posts and I'll put my opinions in my posts and I'll even leave a little room in there to disagree with your's.

They could make 20 of these movies - I'll still go and watch them.

I really enjoy the second one, a pretty good villain, good rewatchability. The one I think falls far below the rest is #3, its fairly boring IMO. #4 had some ridiculous action scenes but was saved by timothy olyphant.

wow i never met someone that didnt like 3. Boring? Jeremy Irons, Sam Jackson, etc. The opening scene was by far the best in all the series.

Actually, not liking part 3 isn't the most shocking thing about his post. The fact that he likes part 2 and says it has good replay value is.

I think its because they dont take their time with action movies like they use to. Back in the 80s, movies took their time to develop. I mean remember die Hard one. Guy was in the plane, limo, in the room, meeting people. Now action movies just start right up and just go off. Doesnt give you a chance to connect with the characters any more.

Fucking Die Hard crushes any Lethal Weapon movie.
Apart from Die Hard 2, I thought that was a little weak.

The problem for me with Lethal Weapon is Mel Gibson - I can't really rate him on any level....

    Willis is cool as fuck.

Die hard 1 does beat any action movie IMO.

But Lethal weapon series as a whole is consistently very good. And come on. Without mel, there would be no lethal weapon 2 and so on.

I did enjoyed Lethal Weapon 3 for what it was: mostly a comedy (remember the scene of Riggs & Rene Russo's character comparing tatooes? that was a riot!). I honestly didn't like Lethal 4, except for the scenes with Jet Li. It was forgettable, slow and the whole pregnancy ending was more proper for a romantic comedy than an action series finale. The first Lethal Weapon was the best, though it didn't came close to the first Die Hard, which is a film that cast a long shadow over all action films made since.

    Shocking post.

So true man, nowadays every action movie MUST have a big ass explosion/crazy chase or fighting scene 9usually nothing at all to do with the movie's plot) for the sole purpose of establishing how badass the main guy is.

Mel would fuck you up, bro.

Well I saw this and it sucked. Can't remember if it was better than the previous one since that one sucked too and I never rewatched it again. Anyway, much like the Expendables what really makes this film suck is the lack of real dialogue. What you mostly get is a bunch of 1 liners and phrases. I mean Willis is constantly making 1 liners throughout the whole film and what's worse is they aren't funny and often feel out of place. It didn't seem like they put much effort in this there were obvious editing mistakes nobody saw and the whole thing felt like a B movie on a big budget. I recommend you wait for video and much like the previous one, I'll never watch this again.

    4.5/10

Yep, surprised at how short it was too, unusual for blockbusters these days. It had a definite franchise end feeling to it, the script was really abysmal, this series is just done.

DH1 is a great movie, even though these days the ideology of portraying cops and society as useless, ineffective slobs whereas one man can accomplish anything as long as he wants it hard enough is bit out-dated.

DH2 was just silly. It had some good scenes in it but it had no point and the holes in plot make it ridiculous. The Finn director fucked up big time.

DH3 was again solid. While DH2 tried to take itself too seriously, DH3 was clearly done more tongue-in-cheek and Jackson's charisma carried the movie.

I haven't seen the latest two yet but I might watch this on weekend
