Just say thank you. Now you don't have to watch it. Did you get to the part where Sean Penn gets eaten by a centaur? It's a real twist, comes out of nowhere.
I think it has very good rewatch value as I've seen it quite a few times and wouldn't mind seeing it many more. In fact other than the teenagers pretty much everyone in the film does above average acting including underrated people like Sean Penn's and Tim Robbin's acting wives as well as Lawrence Fishburne. This is a strong drama film that I truly loved. Lot's of great dialogue, pacing, character development, directing and ending. This one has it all.
I thought Robbins whole character was ridiculous. He acted too suspicious. He was around criminals, he didnt have to act like the way he did. I would have killed him too. I thought it was too stupid. but other than that the movie was pretty good.
4/5 Good acting indeed from Robbins and Penn but the ending really sucked. First the part where Penn's wife gives the speech like Penn is some kinda mafia boss (I felt that didn't fit in) and second everybody just seems to be happy go lucky at the parade. Ummm shouldn't Penn be going to prison now or something ?
Wasn't that the point? When his character was 'touched by an angel' as a child it messed him up and as such he grew up to be a weirdo
Didn't like it because of the way it ended. Sean Penn's character was fucking ridiculous and his wife was a filthy, trashy whore
Just because she gave a speech that made it sound like was a mafia boss didn't make it so. She was merely standing by her husband and reinforcing his confidence, and I thought that was one of the coolest scenes of the film. The way she stood by her husband and backed him dispite what he did and that was reinforced during the parade when she looked over at Robbin's wife who was kind of a friend of hers and then just looked away as if not to care at all that her husband (Penn) had killed her friends husband (Robbins). Penn wasn't going to prison because Bacon didn't have any evidence, but I think he was going to go after Penn which is why he did the little finger pistol at him during the parade and Penn raised his arms up in response in a "bring it" type of gesture. Robbin's widow seemed to be having a mental breakdown during the parade while waving at her son but I didn't totally get what that was about, but either way nobody really seemed to be happy go lucky, they were just putting on the appearance as such.
yeah, I know what's your point, ASSHOLE???issed: I don't have to LIKE It just because there's a precedent
