No surprise. The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 2 as expected made a lot of money this weekend even though some were predicting franchise record breaking numbers, the film just came slightly shy of New Moon franchise record. Still the film grossed $141.3 million which is just the second best opening of the franchise (just a mere one million less than New Moon) and became the eigth highest opening of all time and the fourth best opening of 2012. Worldwide the film has grossed already $340.9 millionIn the second spot, the latest James Bond film Skyfall had a 53% drop which is kind of puzzling since the movie got great reviews and good word of mouth. Still the film grossed a healthy $41.5 million for a 10 days total of $161.3 million and is on its way this week to surpass the franchise record, $168.4 million, held by Quantum of Solace. The 007 film will most likely finish its run close to $250 million. In the third place Steven Spielberg's biopic Lincoln grossed $21 million which is a few millions more than the previous Lincoln film this year (Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Slayer). The film has a longshot at recouping its $65 million budget and could end as another Spielberg's late career box office duds. Still is too early to tell and there are rumours of Oscar nominations which could help at the box office. In the fourth spot Wreck-it Ralph added $18.3 million to its now total of $121 million. The film will get direct competition from Rise of The Guardians opening this Wednesday to capitalize on the Thanksgiving holiday school break. Still the Disney film can eventually finish its run with $150 million total gross. Denzel washington's Flight had a 47% drop with $8.7 million for a 17 days total of $61.3 million. The film is a minor hit and will probably end its run close to $80 million.
