Rented this on On-Demand the other night. Much better then my expectations. Best I've seen Christopher Walken in awhile. Sam Rockwell was solid as always, Colin Farrell was workmanlike, Tom Waits................any movie with Tom Waits in it gets an extra point from me. Woody Harrelson played a good cuntbag.

Recognizable character actors everywhere. From the director of "In Bruges".

Started off a bit cliche and then flipped it on it's head a bit. I wouldn't say it had a "twist" ending, but it had a very satisfying ending IMO.

9/10? Seriously? I saw the trailer for this and the high score on IMDB and thought with the actors involved it was a can't miss. However it sort of missed the target for me. It was ok, but wasn't all that great. I even thought Woody Harrelson missed the mark and I freaking love the guy. I'd say about a 6/10.

In Bruges is one of favourite movies of all time, so I was really looking forward to this.

Unfortunately I agree with LB, the movie was a little disappointing, couldve been because I had such high expectations.

    Walken was excellent.

No shame in not being as good as "In Bruges".

Yes, it was a bit uneven. The way they structured the movie was a little confusing at times. but I thought it was purposefully so, and it came together nicely at the end.

yeah it was definitely an out there movie. Sam Rockwell is the most underrated actor around today imo.

Agree. I was just thinking that when I first made the thread. Guy definitely flies under the radar. He's solid in everything and can do comedy just as well as drama.

I think he's one of those guys other actors respect, but he never gets any attention because he's not fucking porn stars, crashing vehicles, doing coke off of starlets, or cashing paychecks in comic book movies and Michael Bay blockbusters............at least that we know of.

He's been in lots of movies other people get nominated for, but he's always overlooked for some reason.

I was not really amused by this film. It failed on many levels (tried to be funny, dark humour mind you, but it wasn't funny; it was too experimental, like a wannabe Natural Born Killers that didn't took off). None of the characters were appealing. It had its moments, but not enough to save it from mediocrity.5/10

But how could you have known that unless deep down inside you know it's worth no more than a 5-6/10?

Also, am I the only one on this forum who thinks In Bruges is overrated? Everything in that film felt so forced to me.

I laughed here and there but the film as a whole is a failure.

You are not alone. If you dig in the old threads you will find my In Bruges review which wasn't very flattering and received a lot of backlash from a lot of people here who think is a brilliant film...like this one.
