I know you all are probably thinking its a little early in the year for this thread but I figure we can start the discussion now and update as our opinions change throughout the year.

    Best film of the year:
Django Unchained. Tarintino delivers another film chocked full of his top notch dialogue mixed in with action, drama, and intrigue.

    Runner up:
    Jack Reacher

    Worst film of the year:
A Good Day To Die Hard. Mailed in performances, horrible dialogue, bad editing, and worst of all just a weak story.

Most Disappointing Film of the year:
Flight. This wasn't a bad film but I wouldn't exactly call it a good one. I had high expectations here and probably the biggest let down was the misleading trailer as this film had very little to do with the mishap on the plane and more to do with addiction and politics. On top of that I thought the story was a bit badly structured, it tried to deal with too many issues at once and it also had only mediocre dialogue for such a high profile drama.

    Runner Up:
Zero Dark Thirty. Didn't know what to expect from this one but from what I did see I know it should have been a lot better than this.

    Surprise Film of the Year:
Jack Reacher. I didn't even want to see this one. The trailer couldn't show you what makes this film good, just trust me on this and check it out, unless of course you're one of those Tom Cruise haters.

    Agreed on Django

I haven't seen Jack Reacher and I couldn't be bothered to see Die Hard.

Most disappointing for me was The Hobbit.

How the fuck are you going to apologize for making this thread too early and then talk about movies from last year? Might as well apologize for making the thread too late.

Die Hard 4 was crap, it was not really a Die Hard movie in any way other than Bruce Willis starring as John McClaine. I imagine the 5th one is the same way.

Surprise film has to go to Silver Linings Playbook.

Looking at the trailer I thought it'd be a mediocre to crap movie.

I was highly surprised at how good it was.

Here's the thing. I live out in Japan so most of these movies I catch a lot later than you guys do in the states. I'd forgot about that release date difference when I made this thread so my bad on that. If a mod would like to delete the thread that'd be just fine by me.
