No surprise that Oz The Great and Powerful continues at the top of the box office even with its 47% decline. The Disney prequel took $41.2 million this weekend for a 10 day total of $144 million and a worldwide total of $280 million. Disney has already greenlighted a sequel. In a surprise performance, Halle Berry's thriller The Call exceeded expectations and took the second spot with a solid $17.1 million. The film is one Berry's best opening from her resume of thrillers. The $13 million production can end up its run earning over $42 million. Crashing on the third place The Incredible Burt Wonderstone disappointed with $10.1 million. Not even the combined comedy star power of Steve Carrell and Jim Carey was enough to lure enough people to watch the dueling magicians film. Maybe the marketing aspect failed or maybe its theme is not appealing at all. Jack The Giant Slayer drops from the #2 spot last week to #4 with a lame $6.3 million for a total of $54 million in 3 weeks. The biggest bomb of the year still shows no signs of life and should be put out of its misery fast. Meanwhile Identity Thief keeps holding well after six weeks. the $35 million production has grossed so far $123 million.
