This pneumonia really sucks right now. Even though the antibiotics are doing their thing, I can't wait to get back to training. I'm going to get as low in bodyfat as I can. The less I carry, the faster and longer I'll be able to run around with Stevie and play with him.

Since this subforum is kind of quiet, I thought I'd ask you guys how your training is going. What type of training, sets and reps scheme, any cardio, etc?

Buddy...I hope you feel 100% soon!

I just got it of the 200s for the first time in a long time..

Nothing fancy, just watching my calories in and doing cardio 6 days a week. Strength has been mostly calisthenics with a couple gym visits in
I plan to step it up even more now..goal for me is just to get a it leaner and a bit lighter as my legs feel better when running when I'm a lil lighter

Yeah, but I don't have a weak or compromised immune system, so I'm good.

I'm envious, dude. I'm 195, but the only thing I can do is eat right and drink a ton of water. Other than that, I'm riding the couch with extreme dedication.

I thought he weight trained and played soccer and tennis?

Regardless, this pneumonia has really kicked my ass this past week, BOSS. On Saturday, I was 193, which had me 30lbs lighter than when I started my challenge. I'm 195 right now, but that's without doing any physical activity this week. I usually sweat 4-5 lbs out when I do an 8km jog, so I know that I am a few weeks away from scratching at the 180s. I want to get as light as possible while keeping muscle so that I have better stamina to play games with my son and handle things around the house. I'm looking forward to Phase 2 of my training, but that won't begin until I have approval from my doctor. How is your training going?

Still 193 without any training, and I ate pizza twice yesterday on my cheat day. I don't know when my lung's going to heal up, so I have to wait until then. Perhaps it's good that my body is getting a rest from the physical exercise, but it's not getting a rest from the infection, that's for sure.

Pneumonia eh? Had that this morning but was running late for a business meeting so decided I don't have time for that so it's gone now but good luck with yours buddy. My training is going pretty good. Out of the last 65 give or take days I was at the gym around 63 so ya almost there everyday. Lost say 8 pounds in that time frame. Looking to lose 10 more and come down to 170. I do feel however that I have to pick up some soccer or basketball or something to mix my cardio up becasue currently i am sick of the eliptical and spinning classes. I love biking on a nice sunny day though although that doesn't realy feel like much of a work out!

Tabatas is a style of working out that is quite effective. Essentially with weights you train 20 seconds and then rest 10. You can finish workouts superfast and your bodyweight drops really quickly. Interestingly, likely because of my metabolism, I'm still dropping weight. I'm 190 and heading downwards fairly quickly. My lung will be all better in a week or so, and I'll be able to start training again.

Buddy..you think Hanzy really benched 640?

I've been considered pretty strong but 640 is ridiculous

I think there's a bigger chance of Hanzy eating a dead dog's penis than there is of him benching 640. At my best, I could barely manage to bench half of what he claims.

Well, I do 5 sets per exercise using about 40-50% of the weight I would use in a max set for an exercise. I do between 6-8 exercises, so around 30-40 sets in 30+ minutes including a rest period of about 1 minute between exercises. I sweat buckets and when I exhale, I can see my breath a bit because I'm going at a really fast pace. Cavill did something similar in his training for Man of Steel, and Matthew Fox did something similar to get in shape for the movie Alex Cross. I don't know their exact routines, but I've read interviews where they attested to as much. I'm 188 now and I'm down a total of 35lbs. I do the same thing with cardio: 20 seconds at a fast pace and then 10 seconds rest. You should be having trouble finishing just 10 minutes of cardio that way.

Great job Mr.Rydell !! 35lbs in such a quick period of time is amazing that or you contracted aids but either way end justifies the means! Very good job!
