    In the original script it was Roper who got murdered and Williams fought Bolo. John Saxon's manager protested that Saxon was the bigger star and he should survive. So Kelly's character ended up dying instead. Just imagine Kelly vs Bolo...

    John Saxon was a well-known tv & movie actor mainly in secondary roles and a few starring ones. He was in a few good films (The Appaloosa with Marlon Brando, The Cardinal among others). At that time John Saxon was better known in Hollywood than Bruce Lee which is why he got equal screen credit (Warner Bros wasn't sure audiences would buy tickets with only the little known Asian Bruce Lee as the main star). Lee wasn't too happy about this situation, but understood that this was his big opportunity to enter the USA market and Hollywood, so he reluctantly conceded sharing the starring credits with Saxon. From what I heard Saxon was very professional on the set, but his manager was demanding that he be given royal treatment like a spoiled prima donna. Also Lee & Raymond Chow originally wanted instead the far more athletic Robert Conrad for the Roper role (better known actor too), but WB didn't want to pay his salary and they had Saxon already booked in a contract. Conrad had made movies in foreign countries before and probably would had agreed to die like the screenplay had him, leaving the way for Kelly to shine.

    Saxon was a zero fighter who could barely do a kick without almost falling over. His skills were on par with yours. Non existent. Tall, useless f*ck with no co-ordination.

    Bruce generates hundreds of millions of dollars worldwide including through licensing, merchandise, etc. It might be into the billions of dollars now that the Bruce Lee estate has allowed his likeness to be used in movies. That's why you're seeing t-shirts of him in massive movies like Avengers.
