Curtis Stevens (24-3, 17 KO's) Fights on NBC This Weekend in a Gimme vs. Saul Roman (37-9, 31 KO's)...Says he Actually WANTS to Fight Gennady Golovkin...

ASSuming he Handles Business Saturday, Anybody Interested in Golovkin-Stevens???...REED Doesn't Think All that Much of Stevens, but he'd Be THE STERNEST Test of Golovkin's Career, Thus Faaaaaaaaaar....

Shouldn't Be a Difficult Fight to Make, Whatsoever...

I don't think Stevens is in Macklin league. To be honest, I'm not sure he beats Proszka or Ishida

Curtis Stevens? As in the former co "chin checker" with Jaidon Codrington?

The answer to your question is no. Stevens is terrible.

He was in a HORRIBLE fight with Andre Dirrell a few years back.

Dude ccouldn't beat jessie Brinkley...there's no way in hell he deserves a shot against GGG. Let's say he does, there's no damn way it should be televised.

    Or Rosado.

Btw, have I mentioned lately how I think Rosado giving up a mandatory shot against one of the weakest title holders in recent memory--Grady Brewer--to move up in weight and fight Golovkin was a terrible idea and how his management should have been fired for that?

I don't mind Stevens. I think he is usually a good watch. But he's not that good and it would be a waste of time fight for a guy like Golovkin who should be looking to cement his place in p4p rankings and not be out for easy wins at this point in his career.

The Thing about it is, Stevens' Losses Came @ 168...He'd Probably B the STRONGEST (& SHORTEST) Guy GGG's Faced...Stevens has RESPECTABLE Pop Too, & he's Been on a Decent Roll Since Losing to Brinkley, 3 1/2 Years Ago...

Chavez Jr's Busy, Sergio Martinez is On the Shelf...GGG has to Fight SOMEBODY...Stevens Would Make for a Fan-Friendly Fight, in REED's Opinion...

Correct REED if he's Wrong, but he DOESN'T See Much, if ANY Available Opponents @ the Moment...Is Golovkin Supposed to Sit on the Shelf Awaiting Sergio Martinez to Get Healthy AND Fight a Tune-Up 1st???...Or Hope & PRAY Chavez Jr. Will Fight him, AFTER he Faces Bryan Vera???...

For a Guy like GGG, who's in NEED of a Stay-Busy Opponent, what's Wrong w/Stevens???...

Good shout. Murray has proven himself a capable contender, would be a nice step up.

I actually like Brinkley quite a lot and think he was a good watch and a respectable fringe contender.

I really don't understand how anyone can be familiar with Brinkley and not Stevens, though? Either you quit watching boxing right when Stevens came onto the scene or you have a shit memory. He's been around a while and had quite a lot of tv exposure.

Always thought Stevens was hype. Codrington was better (imo), but he fizzled quick too. That Green KO was one of the worst I've ever seen.

It isn't a bad matchup, but GGG will still fuck Stevens up. I do however think Stevens' style will mean the fight itself is exciting to watch. GGG-Murray NEEDS to happen in 2014!
