Her A soulful, tender, funny, heartbreaking exploration of human emotions and the need for social relationships. Spike Jonze has created a thought provoking science fiction masterpiece that doesn't rely nor needs flashy special effects to awe the viewer and emotionally involve audiences in this love story between a lonely man (Joaquin Phoenix) and an operating system artificial intelligence (the voice of Scarlet Johansson). Memorable performance by Phoenix and, yes, Johansson, even though you never see her. Rooney Mara is a chameleon since she looks so different (and normal!!) from her other previous roles. Amy Adams almost goes unrecognized without any make-up and average clothes. Funny choice of costume design by Jonze who goes the opposite of traditional futuristic flicks by making everybody dress nerdy and no make-up nor fancy hairstyles. You could extrapolate so much on the social commentary on this film that has so many layers to peel and dissect. The ending was a little bit of not on par with the excellence of the rest the film, but still good enough to be both shocking, tragic and funny at the same time. There should be more 'little scifi films' like this one and less of the mindless big budget ones that reign during summer season. 9/10

    9/10 my ass!

HUGE let down of a movie! I was expecting good things from it, but I was very disappointed.

Okay, Siskel: I disagree with you. Thumbs up. No wonder is getting nominated for Best Picture of the Year.

4/10 Good twist at the end where her turned out to be him and caused the main character to commit suicide but I don't wanna say too much and spoil it for anyone.

You have not watched this film.

Joaquin Phoenix did not got nominated! That is an unforgivable omission! Oh, but they have to follow tradition by nominating an old timer like Bruce Dern instead.

Do not watch this film under any circumstances unless you have the IQ of a squirrel.

I was literally laughing out loud at the bits that were designed to be sad or deeply meaningful, it was that bad. It could be worth a watch for the unintentional hilarity, except you'd have to endure waves of nausea brought on by the appalling writing as well. Overall, a dreadful way to spend a couple of hours.
