I love this movie. There is something so inspiring about it. It makes me humble. Im still a young kidd by some standards, never really heard about Bobby Sands, untill I saw this movie a while back. I look around me, and must admit that there are no men of that statue anymore in Holland, no values like his, no ideals. Fuck it, I dont know what im trying to say exactly, Im a scaffolder myself, and an amateur boxer, but im noway near as tough as these lads where. Nor do I see anyone of my age around in Holland that would be capable of such heroics. Marco Huck is fighting on the telly, I wonder if he would be capable of such bravery. He's going to war with this Arslan, thats for sure. Good fight.
Yeah, it's pretty tough to question the sincerity of those men and reduce them to mere terrorists... though you can see this attempted on virtually ever internet discussion concerning them
You won't see Marco Huck and Bobby Sands compared too often, thanks fightbeat. Excellent filem though.
It's an interesting parallel between Thatcher and W Bush that both came in promising to be 'uniters' but turned out to be the two of the most dysfunctionally polarized thinkers ever. 'I am in politics because of the conflict between good and evil, and because i believe good will triumph in the end'. One of them said that and believe it or not it wasn't W.
