Does anyone have the estimate of the Pacman/Bradley2 numbers. I havent heard or read anything. This cant be good for Pacman if the numbers aren't good. I'll Holla 5000
all i know is that i bought the cheapest possible upper deck ticket for below face value and ended up sitting in a prime lower level seat the entire card without having to move. that doesnt happen with a fight that has sold well or is in high demand
No he won't....Mejicans won't forget so easily how he fought Floyd like a bitch... Only way Canelo do anything near or over 600K is if he fight MIGUEL COTTO(if Cotto beats Martinez)....and the number there would have more to do with Cotto and the Pr vs. mexico angle than CANELO popularity....
Agreed. If Ginger had a massive 12th round like Joonya vs Martinez it might be different. It will take more than beating Lara to turn Canelo into a big PPV attraction.
Is Guerrero a big ppv attraction? Was victor Ortiz a ppv attraction.....just because your fight w/ Floyd sells a few million ppv doesn't make you a ppv attraction...
neither of those clowns sold 350K as a PPV headliner. Alvarez's fight with mayweather jr sold more than TWICE as many PPVs as either of those guys.
That's like one of the best rappers in Norway. The Mexican fan base is probably the strongest one today, but even they aren't going to keep dishing out money for Canelo. How hot are the Mexican fans for Joonya now? Canelo is just a fad and the Mexicans will start putting their money behind the next potentially great fighter.
chavez jr never sold a ppv on his own that was nearly as successful as alvarez angulo. like him or not alvarez is a rock star and brings fans out in masses to see his fights. live and on PPV
Canelo benefitted from the spotlight of facing Floyd. The fact the fight did so well was mainly because many thought wrongly that Canelo was the first legit THREAT Floyd had ever accepted to fight. Mexicans believed the hyped and spend all their chimichangas allowance money on buying the PPV. After the fight, go and read all the backlash many Mexicans pouring on Ginger. Is not because he lost. Is because how he lost. Now those fans hate him. Sure, Ginger is more bankable than Chumpez, but he lost more fans than Jr did against Martinez...that 12 round knockdown saved his reputation among ardent mexican fans.
I think this is mostly correct except for the bold part. It was more hope than belief even when you add the hype. They would have loved to have watched live as a huge underdog who's one of their own upset the P4P guy. Good times. Most knew it wasn't going to happen.
