    These guys seem to get more than their fair share of title shots. Or is it just me? What do these guys have in common? Do they deserve all the shots they get?

    Rubio
    Arce
    Mijares

    Who else?

    Firat Arslan too.

    I think the common denominator is that they are usually entertaining fighters, they come to fight and are often better-known than some other possible contenders. The promoter usually knows that they make a good fight. So there is no difference to any other case: the exciting fighters are easier to sell.

    Another reason is the fighters connection to the promoter or the sanctioning body. Hasim Rahman gets a title fight whenever he wants. The reason to that is obvious

    Travieso was a world class fighter & former champion, so he's a bit different from the other guys.

    True. But he was past his best and past his best weight class, imo. As it is he hasn't gotten a title shot in years & afaik he's pretty much retired at this point

    Andrew Golota fitted the "WHite Hope" Category....but...he usually did very well in his title fights.

    Mijares is a former champ too.

    As far as Arce, he's still active and still getting title shots.

    Angel Manfredy got a lot of title shots.

    {Gatti} Floyd, Johnston, Corrales.

    {I think Gatti fight was non-title}
