Now they can have simultaneously super, regular, interim, unified and undisputed champs. Donaire is the latter. Boxing must be in great shape since now there are ten champions in the same division who have some of the big three title belts whereas in eighties there were only 1-3 of them
Soooo, if Each Sanctioning Body Creates its Own "Undisputed" Title, How will we Refer to a Fighter that Acquires Every Belt in a Given Division, Moving Forward???... Undisputedly Undisputed???...Undisputed SQUARED???... REED
Exactly. Clearly the sport is better than it ever was. I have to laugh at the primitive 80's where it was limited to having only a possible three simultaneous world champions per weight class. :atu:
I can tell by your sarcasm that you obviously don't understand what is going on. Better training methods, Vitamin B12 shots, Evolution, Bigger'er, Stronger'er, Faster'er. It's only natural that today's superior athletes deserve more titles to strive for, if only to encourage them to keep on evolving as superior examples of the human race. It's not only great for the sport, it's great for society as a "hole". :goodnews:
Love how hbo gets high and mighty about how meaningless the belts are except when they need credentials to put one of their trash matchup in a better light....hbo and Showtime for that matter could do a lot more to marginalized these bodies...The fact they don't suggests the shit they talk on air about them is pure lip service...
Obviously, it's big 4. Obviously, criticizing anyone for this bullshit other than the WBA is weak. Not so obviously, the WBO has gone from equal to the other 3 to being superior. The WBA is the worst. The IBF and the WBC are in a neck and neck race to outshit each other. The WBO has risen to the top by consistently doing fewer stupid things over the past several years than the others.
