I don't think it's completely absurd to give Maidana a chance in this one, but Tszyu has to be the favorite.
Maidana has his moments just on sheer aggression and recklessness but I think Tszyu is too technically sound and hits too hard... he either finishes him off late or gets close enough times to leave no doubt about the winner
Surprised that most seem to pick Tzyu. I think maidana is the clear favorite. He would make it a dirty brawl, and would make Tzyus wilt. Tzyu was good when he was in a boxing match, when they were fighting at a distance, where he could use his skills to set up his straight right hand. When an opponenent was sticked to him, he struggled. Hell, he even struggled against washed up Jesse james Leija. People hate to admit it, but he looked way worst against JJL, than Gatti did.
Yeah, they're just blinded because he gave an old, faded Mayweather a rough fight (yet still clearly lost). For the record, a prime Tszyu would defeat the current version of Floyd. Tszyu wasn't some mindless, plodding retard like Crapnelo. This whole notion of Floyd aging like fine wine is a crock of shit. Floyd's prime was like 03-07. He PEAKED in 05, IMO.
Nobody is claiming that Maidana is something special. Only that Tzyu is severly overrated by some on this forum. The guy best win was against Judah ffs, and he struggled with almost evey decent fighter he fough. He was far from being the dominant beast some make him out to be.
could be a good fight madonna is basically a middle zoo was a short little bastard.. i could see it going either way
You know what's funny about Jesus saying Judah was Tszyu's best win? The guy who's CURRENTLY the best junior welter in the world went 12 tough rounds with a SHOT Judah. Tszyu smoked a PRIME Judah in 2 rounds 13 years ago. Food for thought, when you say "His best win is Judah FFS."
doesn't mean much, as Garcia is clearly the kind of fighter who fights up (or down) to the level of his opposition. And while it's true Judah was on the decline physically when he faced Garcia, he was a hundred more times more patient and intelligent than the clown who faced Tszyu. In fact, old Judah would probably have lasted longer againt Tszyu. Not to mention, than to this day, I still think it was a terrible stoppage.
Couldn't agree more. One of the most overrated fighters I've ever seen. The guy gets talked about like an ATG ffs, and his best win is Judah ::
