Haven't seen anything on the numbers. Has anyone heard an estimate? Also, about a week before the fight for shits and giggles I went to Ticketmaster to see if tickets were available...there was availability at every price point. How did the fight do compared to the first one? Interviews like this before the fight couldn't have helped. <iframe width="560" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/a21U_fXjGTA" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen=""></iframe>
i was able to get a ticket to the fight on ticketmaster that they added at the last minute in the cheapest price range, but after i bought it i checked back and none were available. this rick glaser guy was all over twitter claiming it wont break 700,000 ppv sales
I didn't even realize the fight was on until I visited the General Discussion forum 3 hours before the fight started. And I don't remember there being a huge demand for a rematch. I think the numbers will be bad and Floyd will ponder retirement soon after.
Whether it sold 1 buy or 2 million I wonder if there is a single person that was happy with their purchase.
The event was carried in several bars in my area. Usually, it's just UFC events at these places. I think the last boxing event I know of held in a bar was Pacquiao vs JMM 4. The attendance at the bar (Hooters) I went to was very solid. Lots of black guys, lots of families. A different crowd than UFC.
