You could argue that at this stage of his career that Rigo, Ward, GGG, and Kov are all better fighters than 38 year old Floyd.

NO...NONE of them is better than Floyd.

Ward hasn't fought in year/2....Rigo has ONE victory....Kova has one MEANINGFUL victory over a 50 year old...GGG has fought NOBODY....

Ask yourself, would Rigo, Kov, or GGG struggle right now with a scrub like Maidana?

Maybe...but his better than anyone GGG has fought...and better than anyone Kov has fought..other than Hopkins.

Time will tell but NO...Rigo, Kov, GGG are not better fighters than Floyd Mayweather.

Yeah, it's comical how the narrative on Maidana has changed since he beat up About Bullshit, and gave an aged Floyd a rough fight.

Maidana is still the same guy who lost 10-0 to Devon Alexander. I'm sorry, but Robert Garcia didn't turn him from a scrub to Roberto Duran. He's still a scrub.

GGG and Kov would wipe their asses with a fighter of Maidana's caliber right now.

Part of it has to do with Alexander's reputation as an absolute stink bomb of a fighter. It's like losing to ottke. Wtf cares?

Floyd is still the best on accomplishments and longevity alone but he's clearly declined a lot and this version of Floyd would lose to at least 5 active opponents in a p4p matchup.

Yes indeed. Definitely the best fight of his career. In fact I wouldn't mind seeing a rematch there, to see if Maidana actually improved (defeating Broner giving Floyd 2 tough fights) or if his style just works well against Floyd and his shadow.

I also agree with Haymaker that Floyd is still #1 until somebody goes on at least a full years rout of impressive work against very good competition while Floyd likewise sits on his ass and isn't putting in much work. Or Floyd loses or at least looks declined in a fight against a different opponent. Maidana may have just been a bad style matchup.

lol, at Kov and GGG being top 4.

The former has beaten one elite fighter, who happened to be 50 years old, while the latter has feasted on a diet of mid level guys.

    no

I doubt that Hopkins at this age would beat someone as good as Lara or Trout.

I'm no floyd fan, but this is ridiculous

Stylewise, I dunno if a guy like Crapnelo would EVER beat Hopkins.

Kov has FAR more offensive skill than Crapnelo. The Ginger is pretty inept in the face of smart boxing.

The only guy in that list who's better than Floyd is Rigondeaux

I'd rate Ward and Rigo above PBF. I believe GGG is better than him at this moment but there simply is not enough proof of that. Also even though it is not a popular thing to say, Wlad is up there considering his dominance

Wlad should be in the Top 10 mostly because of longevity but not too high since the HW division is arguably the weakest of all.

I understand this take, but I'd still say Wlad's record from last three years or so is better than Golovkin's for example

Fuck out of here....If Floyd spent his time fighting a bunch of N'dou's or Goyo Vargas or whatnot he would also look dominant everytime out...

So name me others who have been as dominant outside of Floyd? Who are the five or ten that rank above Wlad in this sense? Or is it that every fighter of every other division automatically ranks as better than any heavyweight for some reason?

The problem with wlad, is that he never really fought the best in his division. But yeah, hes top 10, maybe even top 5, as much as i hate to admit it
