I think my Italian brother is being overlooked by Manny. I think his jab and straight right are gonna catch Manny over and over again when he is either darting in or out. Manny is not the same fighter he used to be and IMO playing basketball and talking about Floyd all the time is a recipe for disaster. I also think another key is that Algieri seems to have great composure in the ring. I think if he can withstand Manny and his flurries early in the fight he can drag this one out and do some damage later in the right. What do you guys think?

Not only from those, but from the yuppie himself.

Algieri is a pretty good boxer, but basic. Just good old fashioned, basic boxing. Manny has far more tricks up his sleeve.

However, I do expect Algieri's range and solid fundamentals to trouble Pacquiao.

Hopefully Pacquiao stops the horrible arrogant yuppie, but I think a clear decision is more likely.

I would give Algieri a chance if there were not such a disparity in speed/quickness. Algieri is slow as molasses.

Algeri's a bum. A boring bum at that, not an exciting bum like Rios. Horrible fight.

Hard to believe this is Algieri's first fight outside of New York state. Mothafucka hasn't even fought in Jersey

For what it's worth, I had the yuppie feather-fist losing the Provo fight.

Provo basically just got too overconfident after the first round knockdowns, and just tried to end the fight with one punch for the duration of the fight.

Against Alvarado, Provo was more determined, and made sure to kill Alvarado's body. He invested ZERO in a body attack against Algeri.

Provo lost the fight, more than Algeri won it.

I actually agree with that....but still..I don't think I have ever seen a fighter come back from a 1st round eye shutting knockdown punch like that.....and against a fighter that has a high work rate and KO power until the end....it felt like a houdini like escape.....its pretty much convinced me that Algieri aint gonna go steamrolled by Manny...of course unless he gets totally knocked out with one punch

Pacquiao will win.....but I don't know who Algieri trainer is...but I would like to see him go with a more establish and more knowledgeable trainer...Algieri has something that I think can be develop and help him progress in his boxing career....he seems like a more athletic version of Kermit Cintron....that not much but it's something...

I'm sure Algieri ' s movement had something to do with the lack of body punching. Just saying.

Honestly I can't believe anyone had Provo winning. Believe me I prefer FFH Provo to the yuppie by a country mile, but I recently watched a good copy of the fight, and thought the scrubby yuppie won pretty fucking clearly. He looked to me outlanding Provo at least 2 to 1, and controlling the fight. Feather fisted or not - when you do that, you win.

I wasn't watching the fight too closely, but I have the opposite view on this. For me, it was a clear Provodnikov win.

I don't blame him. According to Ricky Hatton he was starting to get to Pacquiao right before he got knocked unconscious.

Manny is smart not to allow something like that happening again.

That's right! Hatton doesn't get enough credit for the work he did in that fight. It's no wonder pacquiao didn't want a rematch.

Rewatch the fight, and try not to be swayed by how annoying and dislikeable the yuppie is.

He landed far more punches, and controlled the fight. I'm all for big punchers, and scoring hard, quality punches - but not if the other guy is landing twice as many, and controlling you.

To be honest, if FFH Provo won, I would have considered it a robbery.

I thought the fight was pretty much a draw, slight favor to Algerian

How come? After the excellent first round, all I saw was FFH Provo plodding after him, landing hardly anything, and being outboxed. I thought Provo won no more than 2 rounds after the first.

Algae wasn't really landing much, either in a lot of rounds... FFH Provo pressed the fight and landed the better shots in several rounds... I don't recall my exact score but I think I had it a point for Algae at best

Pac is old, and uninterested in finishing anybody anymore. He'll likely drop Algeri once or twice, and just allow Algeri to run to a decision loss.

The Pac of 08-09 would have stopped Rios, and Bradley. Yet now in his faded stage, both those guys lasted the distance with him.
