He's a very good offensive talent, but I can't help but think that his chin isn't great and that he's a bit of a dog. Supposedly he's coming back at 140. Crawford whups his ass in the pros just like he did in the amateurs. I know who he WOULD stop though......... that bum Figueroa.
Yeah, I didn't like what I saw at the end of the Salido fight. And I don't like the lack of urgency to resume his career. He always said he hates boxing. Still, very talented fighter that I enjoyed watching on TV.
What I'll give him is that has arguably the best offensive technique in the sport. In terms of talent and skills, he's a level above Canelo. BUT, at least we know Canelo has heart and a good chin.
I think at 27 that he's too talented to lose to a mediocre fighter. The problem for him will be that you have Crawford, Danny, Peterson, and Matty Ice at 140. And a year or two down the line, maybe Amir Imam, and Verdejo.
Will be interesting to see if his power is still there at 140. If it is, he's live to beat any of the guys there right now. The power he showed at 130 meant he could be a dog and still win handily. My guess, though, is that the power will NOT be there at 140. Not like it was at 140. In that case, he probably will be stopped in the corner by one of the top guys. If he plays his cards right, he could get a shot at Pacquiao.
