Looks like an inferior version of Interstellar (which Damon was in).

I feel like Matt Damon at this stage is Hollywood's poor man's version of McConaughey. Like they probably ask for Leo, or Matt McConaughey for the part first, and if they turned it down they settle for Damon.

not at all. In fact, they never really play the same roles.

The narration by Damon is cringe worthy and some people might think it is related to Interstellar as it stars Matt Damon playing AGAIN in a row a stranded astronaut with your girl Chastain in the cast too. Yeah, it looks like a bomb waiting for its straight to DVD release. I pass.

I dont think Scott was too invested in this project. I really heard very little about it.

I'll probably see it when I get a chance in the next couple weeks or so. Ridley Scott is due for a good one.

Ok, we're pretty much on the same page then.

.....except for the "masterpiece" part. I thought Prometheus was really good, but had the makings to be a lot better.

Actually thought Exodus was kind of fun. I mean, it was crap, but it was fun crap. I was expecting to really hate it going in.

Prometheus was good. Masterpiece? Not for me, personally, but it was enjoyable and re-watchable.

I refuse to watch Exodus, assuming you're talking about the Moses film with Christian Bale. After seeing "Noah" I want no more part of any contemporary Biblical film.

The kid who portrayed "God" in Exodus, was actually pretty great. He was an Old Testament gangster.

I loved Prometheus. The idea that Jesus was an alien sent down from above and the fact that we killed him and that is why they wanted to destroy us blew me away. I probably seen that movie about 5 times and each time i learn something knew.

The Sequel being done is interesting. It's going to be called Alien: Paradise Lost. Not sure if you guys have read paradise lost, but this should be very interesting.

Oh, I loved the concept and the way they handled the Aliens, and thought the opening scene was fucking great. Some of the characters were kind of shit though. Especially the Noomi Rapace character, and her boyfriend who got killed near the beginning.

Also, like most Ridley Scott films, it felt like a lot of material was cut out. They need to give that guy at least 3 hours to tell a proper story.

I like noomi, but really wished Theron was playing that character. I too was hoping for a directors cut.

Prometheus was the biggest disappointment ever put on film after that smashing trailer that was a gazillion times better than the half-cooked product that was delivered to movie theaters screens.

Hopefully, Alien: Paradise Lost will be a massive leap forward in all aspects. I've never seen a movie with so many holes in it or unexplained 'WTF' moments ever...than in Prometheus.

The fact that Damien Lindeloff is not going to have anything to do with this new movie speaks volumes...I mean with such an amazing success as before, 20thCentury Fox would want to keep the same team together, right?

Back to thread - this movie already took US$57 million at weekend.

    That smashes Interstellar'sopeningby US$10 mill.

He isnt writing it because he didnt have 1 year of his life to give up to do it. He was working on other projects and Prometheus 2 wasnt even a guaranteed thing. And every movie has plot holes. I didnt catch too many in this one but whatever. to each is own.
