Irishman Gary Hyde, the manager of unified super bantamweight (122 lbs.) world champion Guillermo “The Jackal” Rigondeaux (15-0, 10 KOs), has accepted in principal the offer made by Egis Klimas, manager of World Boxing Organization (WBO) featherweight (126 lbs.) champion Vasyl “Hi-Tech” Lomachenko (4-1, 2 KOs), for a Super Fight. Rigondeaux is the reigning World Boxing Association (WBA) Super, WBO and The Ring magazine’s super bantamweight champion.

Cuban-native Rigondeaux, who now lives in Miami, and Ukrainian-born Lomachenko are both two-time Olympic gold medalists.

    who wins this one?

Did Rigo back off from his request for 124?

If its at 126 I like Lomachenko to win this and possibly stop Rigo late.

Wow, a combined record of just 20 fights. That must be a record for a "super fight".

I've always been a Chenko believer, and I'm picking him. I think he's just as good as Gondo, but bigger. And I reckon he's a damn sight better than Donaire.

Damn good fight, but Loma's size and aggressiveness might be too much for Rigo. Also Loma will probably still get better as his career progresses

Its not far off being as good a match up as Floyd-Pac woulda been if it'd happened a gazzilion years ago when it should of. Both these guys are A+

    Give REED Rigondeaux...

If Lomachenko Makes a Consistently Aggressive Go at Rigondeaux, he'll REGRET it...The Better the Opponent, the BETTER Rigondeaux Is...

But yeah, I think both these guys are incredible, and it's a really interesting style match up.

Best fight to be made in boxing.

Sly has a point too, how bizarre they have a combined 20 fights.

If it's at 126, how does that affect Rigo? Though I hear about a 124 catch weight which is rather ridiculous I think.

I think Loma is not just quick enough to catch Rigo, he's powerful enough to seriously hurt him too.

He's skilled enough to catch him. The guys footwork is insane.

It really is. It's so fast yet neat and concise.

One thing this article is right about is Gondo is in no position to make any demands.

Unfair as it may be, no one wants anything to do with Gondo, he's hardly a big star or draw. So I think he should snap up this fight at 126 without any bullshit clauses, as it's a winnable fight for him.

Beggars can't be choosers. If Rigo truly believes he's the P4P, and deserves to be a star, then he should move his ass up to 126, take the lesser of the purse, and kick Loma's ass. A win over Loma, and HBO/Showtime will no longer be able to shut him out.

What a fucking fight this would be. I'm a big Lomachenko fan but I kind of think he might be a little green to win this. Rigo is mustard.

I don't think Loma can be considered "green" at this point, though. He's as ready as he's gonna be for this fight. The sooner this fight happens the better for Rigo though, because he's getting up there in age and he doesn't have time to waste.

He's had five pro fights? That's pretty green in professional terms, even if you take into account his stellar amateur career. In his last fight Loma looked great for a guy with five pro fights but he still made errors and looked like he had a bit more to learn for me in among the superb footwork and combination punching.

In any event, this is still a hell of a fight.

    Definitely Bizarre on PAPER...

But when You Consider NEITHER are American Fighters, ie., NO Pressure or Expectation to Turn Pro in a Hurry, it Makes Sense...The ONLY American from Recent Memory, that REED Recalls Fighting in MORE than 1 Olympics (or Even ATTEMPTING to Do So), was Rau'Shee Warren, who FAILED to Win a Single Olympic Bout, if REED's Not Mistaken:lol:...

Only in RECENT Years has American Stipends Been Enough for American Fighters to Even CONSIDER Staying Ammy Past 1 Olympic Games...Whereas, Foreign Fighters have ALWAYS Been "Rewarded" to Varying Degrees for their Ammy Exploits, though the LURE of Pro Boxing Riches has Obviously Started to Chip AWAY @ That...

20 Pro Bouts Combined, but a SHITLOAD of Ammy Bouts...REED Would Be Interested in their COMBINED Ammy Records...
