Grant beat Savarese and Golota, David Izon too, Obed Sullivan. So he was not the absolute worst HW ever born either. The lost to Lewis but did better than Golota did and Lewis has never had to drop a guy 4 times to get rid of him either ::

Grant was way more "proven" than Wilder is at this stage of his career. Wilders best win so far is W12 over Stiverne.

 

Wilder thinks he can become a household name without fighting anyone. If he manages to, gold for him. But it would be a really bad reflection on boxing fans if he's able to.

Yeah Stiverne was more proven and looked like he had the style to do it. Decided to eschew footwork and head movement on the night in question.

Wilder is much better than Grant was. Wilder also has potential to improve. He probably can't get to the Lewis/Bowe/Klitschko level, but I think he can get to the Holyfield/Moorer level.

 

Come on man. There's no way he reaches Holyfield\Moorer level. Those guys could box, he's a big sloppy bum blessed with fight ending power. I don't even hate the guy, he will make for exciting fights but he's a fucking terrible boxer.

I really think, that whilst Fury vs Wilder might not be it, that we are on the verge of a large turnaround in things in the HW division.....if Fury vs Klitschko is not the event itself then it will presage the event.

Whether the titles become more or less fissiparous I do not know....it's possible that the Furys will never fight each other and that Wilder, if he wins, and he should, will stay in the USA defending his title, a la Roy Jones, denouncing everyone else as foreign bums that need to come to the USA.
