Creature From The Black Lagoon remake in the works

The word is out that another attempt to remake the Universal Pictures 1954 scifi/horror classic is in the works. This time there is a even an actress attached to the project: Scarlett Johansson, who will be tacking the role that Julia Adams portrayed in the original...or so I think. Since the script is being penned by the same dude who wrote the god-awful The Amazing Spiderman 2 expect a lot of CGI action (maybe Scarlett is not the crush of the gillman, but its hunter and will go mano-a-mano against the monster!

Anyway, this is ike the 10th attempt to bring back to the screen the Creature. The prior failed attempt on 2008 even had a curious, obviously cgi, monster design that recently was leaked online.

 

Pulling out a satisfactory new look on the creature will be no easy task as the original is so iconic and some of the most amazing underwater sequences ever filmed.

Julia Adams had a little resemblance with Brooke Shields IMO.

I agree it looks shitty. More reptilian than fish. I liked better the creature version from Monster Squad.
