    Only 300K?

The WBC is a non-profit organization. For all the great work the WBC has done not only for boxing, but the world in general I'm sickened anybody would refuse the minimum donation. I was looking forward to the fight but if the WBC doesn't get their fair share boxing fans and the general public should boycott.

Yep. He'll be forced to prove how great of a draw and PPV star he is if....oh wait. Nevermind.

Perhaps there's a merchandise record he can break in San Antonio.

He'll be forced to call out the winner of Danny Jacobs and Peter Quillen.

Maybe this was an easy decision for cotto given that he has no intentions of actually competing as a middleweight.

I think you and REED as Golov detractors are the ones praying Cotto wins.

Too bad, Canelo is gonna kick Cotto's ass on Saturday. Then the pressure will be on him to fight Golov. No "I'm not a middleweight" bullshit excuses from Canelo. Cotto can claim that. Canelo, not so much. Oscar can say what he likes, but Canelo has clearly outgrown making 154 comfortably.

Cotto will be doing the ass kicking on Saturday night..

But let say Canelo wins.....there is no real PRESSURE to fight GGG....IMO you GGG superfans are overating his popularity...HBO will want it...die hard fans will want it...some casual fans will say Floyd is avoiding him...but at the end..Canelo can go on fighting the RIos, Bradley, Margarito, Thurmans of the world without a problem for at least another year or two....now GGG can expedite the pressure put on Canelo by fighting more OFTEN...3x a year is GOOD...but considering the caliber of his opponent he can step it up....

ALSO GGG needs to go on SOCIAL media with his case.....make VIDEOS calling out Canelo...put him down....make him a good boy..whatever the fuck...HE can't just sit at 160 and cry Canelo nor Cotto want to make him a millionaire with a 8 digit bank account....PUSH for it fucker.....

Insult Canelo...insult his gingerness....insult his mejican heritage..do whatever you have to do...become the BAD GUY....stop with the fake humble shit....

Something like that....because unless GGG is willing to come down to 154....or Canelo can no longer make 154..that fight isn't happening..

Fucking belts. Why don't HBO and others create their own non-profit, free-of-charge belt?

Obviously WBC doesn't deserve a nickel (although whiskey made a good case for them) but this leaves the question, who defines champions as of now. The Ring belt doesn't seem to work either.

Or is it ok that we don't have champions in all weight division anymore and we only use the term when everybody is unanimous (such as at heavyweight)

I just want to know how the WBC and all those scammers justify such huge amounts of money in terms of costs, etc. How much work they do to just create belts and keep a ranking? That shit could be done by a startup company working from home.

I don't blame cotto for not wanting to give up 300k. Although if that were the case, why give up 800 to golovkin to make the fight happen originally with the wbc welt on the line? It was certainly done strategically to pitch this as a middleweight title fight until as close to go time as possible. He Coulda ditched the strap and avoided paying sanctioning fees vs geale

Roy used to walk to the ring with 15 belts and casual fans would say "Dayum! Look at all those belts!" That's why he did it. Roy was cool with it.

Maybe he just felt enough was enough. He should get that step aside money back tho if he is not the champ anymore. I would sue someone over that shit.

maybe. Cotto is pretty smart with his money. Im shocked in his deal with Roc Nation that he didnt negotiate that they pay all sanctioning and step aside fees to avoid this kind of thing. But im guessing Cotto really doesnt give a fuck.

You keep branding me as a Golov groupie, but if you actually follow my Golov posts you'd see that's far from true.

My stance on Golov on clear - I don't think anybody from 154-160 has a shot in Hell at beating him. I also think Ward would've beaten him had he moved up, and I don't think he was in a rush to fight Ward either.

Like I continually tell you, I'm a Kov GROUPIE. Golovkin fan, but it's not nearly as deep as you make it.

Put it this way - you and Muzse DISLIKE Golov far more than I LIKE him.
