I hope there is no catchweight bullshit but i'm sure that's too much to ask for in today's world of boxing.

Which means it will be finalized before that happens.

155 lbs, and GGG has a re-hydration clause of five pounds MAX.

Meanwhile Canelo can come in at 181 again

I'll believe it when I see them in the ring.

I'm hearing Canelo actually put the Gladiator clause in the contract, whereby he gets to stab Golov in the abdomen prior to Golov walking to the ring.

It's on for next fall...no surprise.

If all goes according to plan we'll have this match up and Ward vs Kovalev in the fall.

    Not bad.

Let's hope that neither fights a "southpaw spoiler" between now and then.....remember what happened to Trinidad vs Mosley (Wright) and Mosley vs Mayorga (Spinks)?

Amen. I doubt they'll fight on the same card for financial reasons, but if they wanted to do a duel showcase put them in with some tough but defensively deficient opponents. Virtually guarantee a couple of nice knockouts for both and hypes up the showdown even more.

    (GGG fans close your eyes)

Canelo will have a cupcake fight...nothing wrong with that. He's earned it. GGG will fight his normal level opponent.

This has to be at 155lbs. No way Canelo fights GGG at 160.

I hope by that point his weight cheating ass can't make 155 any more.

hopefully golovkin is in with a guy he struggles against so that alvarez comes into the fight as the slight favorite.

this will be a fight where you can make a killing betting on golovkin if the odds are anywhere close to even

Has Canelo ever been responsible for seeking catch weights? I thought he was the victim of them vs May and Cotto.

alvarez's camp has stated in the media they want a fight with golovkin at 155, and that he is 'very comfortable' at 155lbs

If GGG comes in as the heavy betting favourite...I'm putting $1G on Canelo. It's a good bet as a Canelo win by (controversial) decision is a rather possible scenario.....and you could make a killing!

I'm starting to feel this now. GGG might have to KO Canelo so he's not screwed over.

    THIS

First they can do interim fights before finalize negotiations? SCREW THE WBC AND THEIR BENDING RULES!!! They were suppose to strip Canelo of the belt and declare GGG their only champion! :pissed:

Good bet...considering Mayweather won 11-12 rounds vs. Canelo...yet one of the judges gave him the fight...and that the Cotto fight was soo close that the Mexican commentators were crying/begging Canelo to go for broke in round 12.....yet the Judges soo it so one-sided for Canelo....

and if GGG is force to come down to 155....even better bet....though I still think GGG is going to brutalize Canelo.....

Blah, I know I'm in a small minority, but I thought Canelo came forward, threw a lot of punches, and tried a lot more than Floyd. I don't think Canelo won that fight, but him getting an even card was not ridiculous to me. He hits harder than Floyd and he did land punches.
