Former pro boxer Alex 'El Pollo' Dejesus was murdered on Sunday early morning hours when apparently he was forced out from his residence located at the Manuel A. Perez housing project and taken to the Belmonte street in San Jose neighborhood in Hato Rey where he was executed via multiple gunshots. Police is still investigating the case, but apparently it is linked to a physical altercation Dejesus had with an elderly lady the day before at Manuel a. Perez housing project, one of the most notorious crime infested locations in Puerto Rico.

Prior to his pro career Dejesus represented Puerto Rico at the 2004 Olympic Games.

Alex 'El Pollo' Dejesus just recently retired from boxing after he lost via KO his last fight on January 2016 to Joseph Elegele. He had a record of 21-2 with 13 KOs and had previously held the WBO Latino super lightweight title from 2006 until 2009 when he lost it to Argentinian Cesar Rene Cuenca in what many considered a local decision. On 2010 El Pollo Dejesus was incarcerated for charges related to domestic violence. He did 4 years and returned to the ring on 2015, but his passion for the sport was already gone by then. He had two more wins on his comeback and then lost to Elegele. His trainer asked him to retire since he had no more commitment to train and continued having lots of problems outside the ring.

    He was 33.

4 years for domestic violence? That means he did something very bad.

Found something that said it's actually 50 months.

Found this: "WBO light flyweight champion Ivan Calderon visits former stablemate, Olympian and jr welterweight prospect Alex “Pollo” De Jesus (19-1, 13 KOs) who is serving a four year sentence at the jail in Bayamon, Puerto Rico for domestic violence and weapons charges."

Also said that he violated a protective order for his wife and children.

Can't find the actual account of what he was convicted for, though.
