I'm just throwing this out there. Brook has called out Golovkin saying he'd fight him at a catchweight of 157 lbs (I know, fuck catchweights). Hearn has said he likes the idea of matching Brook up with Triple G and he has a good relationship with Loeffler. Saunders isn't ready yet to take the fight and Jacobs is leaving it in the hands of his promoter to deal with if it's a fight they want. Why doesn't GGG take Brook up on his offer? The Canelo fight is a no go this year it looks like and Golovkin doesn't want Ramirez because he isn't a big enough name. Would GGG-Brook be a big hit in the states? Brook is known over there but he's not a huge name. It would be the biggest name on Brook's resume and arguably Golovkin's too.
I think Triple G is too big for Brook. If Brook doesn't make a fight with either Spence or Garcia, he needs to move up to 154 and try to get in that mix.
But Floyd wasn't ''too small'' for Golovkin. I know it's Floyd and all that and he's the money man, but why did GGG say ''but Brook is too small'' when he would have fought Floyd at 154? He'd be much bigger than Floyd. Brook isn't a small welterweight and Golovkin isn't a big middleweight.
There's no reason for Brook to not fight Spence. It's a huge fight. If Brook vacates the IBF belt anytime soon it wouldn't look good.
Brook has ZERO intentions of fighting Golovkin. It's just the standard Brook/Hearn tactic of mentioning big names to create a buzz before signing to fight some bloke they pulled out of a farm in Norway. Then they can say "oh we tried but [insert big name here] didn't fancy it. Sven here was the only one to step up."
I agree. And I'm not gonna call for Floyd to fight Triple G. He's not big enough for middleweight. He just isn't. Agree that Brook-Spence needs to be made or it isn't a good look. But I have no doubt Brook would prefer to face Garcia knowing that's an easier fight. Plus, a win over Garcia is a slap in the face to Khan.
That bitch nigga doesn't fight mothrfuckas in his division...147....but is talking/thinking about fighting GGG at a catchweight...fake ass gossip to keep his weak ass name out there...fuck him! Fuck all 'em bitches at 147...
palabra....Brook reminds me of an older Bernard Hopkins...without all the attributes/skills/abilities that made Hopkins great. Actually other than the stance he is nothing like HOpkins...:kick:..but as soon as he starts boxing/moving all that balance is gone.
Yep, its actually Frank Warren's old MO...Calzaghe sailed through most of his career based on the that same old bait-and-switch
In all truth, Brook has very little chance. Triple G will bring too much of everything. But he deserves an L for taking this fight.
So Brook and Khan wouldn't fight each other and GGG and Canelo wouldn't fight each other so they set the little guys up to get smashed by the big guys. I can see Khan cashing out because he already had three losses and he no longer trusted his chin. Brook is undefeated. What's he doing cashing out? Maybe he and Hearn just came to the conclusion that he sucks.
you have to figure when it comes to reasonable possible opponents for ggg (actual middleweight contenders), ggg must be offering peanuts from his hbo loot. and that is why, "nobody will fight him." fed up with this guy.
Crap fight. Even if there were some truth in "nobody wants to face GGG" claims, to me it seems odd that Kovalev doesn't seem to have trouble finding top-10 level opponents regularly. Neither can force a fight with the champion, but Kovalev is fighting The Ring #7 this Monday as GGG digs his opponents from the bottom of the barrel. I don't believe these opponents get any more money than GGG's and their venues are much smaller
every last one? much more likely that ggg, the common denominator here, foolishly expects guys to fight him for nothing.
I know GGG doesn't have a lot of options but this fight still makes very little sense. He'd be better off taking on another top 10 middleweight contender even if they stand as much of a chance as Brook does. Brook isn't even a "name" outside of the UK which is why the fight is taking place there.
