Topping this exciting evening of action is Pascagoula’s very own Terry Scott in a cruiserweight contest. A police officer in the City of Pascagoula Scott’s outstanding professional record is 21-5-1 with 10 knockouts. He has a large fan base and returns to the squared circle for the first time in two years. Scott will fight in a four rounder.

Unbeaten Javonn “Pinkie” Barnes travels from Atlanta, GA to face tough Gulfport, MS native Robert “Hitman” Hill over six rounds. Barnes, 6-0 (3 KO’s), is coming off a first round knockout May 7 and fought in Mississippi back in February. A 33 fight veteran, Hill’s fought an astonishing 16 unbeaten opponents. His foes include current star Jose Benavidez, Mason Menard, Miguel Angel Gonzalez, Bahodir Mamadjonov and Devonte Williams amongst others.
Hard hitting Pascagoula based heavyweight Darren Versiga looks to make his comeback a successful one when he meets North Carolina’s Roberto White, 5-7, 5 KO’s, in a six round bout. Versiga, who has a solid 8-2 record with six knockouts, also works for the Pascagoula Police Department and fought all of his bouts in the Magnolia State.

Middleweight hopeful KeAndre “Lighting” Leatherwood, 16-3-1 (10 KO’s), will travel from Birmingham, AL to meet 61 fight veteran William Johnson of Sardis, MS. A pro since 2004, Johnson’s faced many top fighters such as future world champions Andre Berto and Andre Dirrell along with Chase Shields, Michael Seals, Medzhid Bektemirov and Bobby Bryant. Having fought on ShoBox against highly touted Hugo Centeno, Leatherwood’s hoping to land a notable bout in the near future if he’s victorious.

2008 Cuban Olympian Robert Alfonso, 6-0 (2 KO’s) is scheduled to appear in a four round bout in the heavyweight division. Born and raised in Havana, Cuba and currently residing in Orlando, FL, Alfonso captured a gold medal at the 2007 Pan American games where he defeated current pro standout Oscar Rivas as well as MMA superstar Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira.

Local cruiserweight and Mississippi Hwy Patrolman Charles Dale of Meridian, MS meets Louisiana’s Jimmy “Mad Bomber” Owensby and Biloxi, MS’ Anthony Dwayne squares off against Tennessee’s Tyrone Dowdy in a super middleweight contest. Both matches are slated for four rounds.

“Rite Hook Promotions is excited to bring local boxing back to Pascagoula,” said William Hunter. “Many of the fighters are well known locally and I expect there to be a great crowd Saturday evening. More importantly, three of the boxers fighting Saturday night are law enforcement officers. These men not only risk their lives in the ring but each and every day protecting the citizens of Mississippi. I’m looking forward to the event and we are really hoping to further promote public safety in association with the card.”
