I've alwalys liked Arreola. He's Mexican, his first name is the same as mine. His last name is part of a tit. And he likes to drink and party. But tonight is all about the BOMB SQUAD!!! Wilder is too much for this guy.

Wilder is just a horrible fighter. You can't convince me that AJ won't beat the fuck outta him, cause he will.

    In truth, Wilder had improved.

But he's just not a natural fighter. AJ is. And he's better at all facets in boxing than Wilder.

Much was being made last night by the FOX PBC commentary crew {including Danny Gift} that Wilder had progressed.

    I don't see it.

    I think he has regressed.

Last night was a good chance for him to show that he could improve on the performance other fighters turned in vs Arreola.

Vitali KO 10 is the benchmark and in my opinion Wilder, against a very badly faded Arreola, who was never all that to begin with, did not show a whole load.

Wilder is ungainly but he just doesn't have the strength or the mobility or the versatility of the likes of Vitali.

He gets cornered and bulled to the ropes and worked over against the ropes far too easy and while he has power, there's not a lot on his left hook, which should be the outlet punch for a big man when he pulls back and spins off from a charging opponent.

He's not easy to hit but he's not hard to hit either and with the injury and the staph infection, he's probably in a worse place than he was when he fought Stiverne.

Wilder has fought better guys but AJ has looked better, more athletic and less ungainly.

Right now, I cannot call it as both men are so badly flawed relative to what the other man will bring.

Whether people like it or not, AJ has not shown he can do a hard 12 rounds and keep his hands moving and he was badly wobbled vs the totally unheralded and unknown Whyte.

In the meantime, Wilder hasn't kicked on from the Stiverne fight and now has injuries, poor health etc, and can be reached by somebody with the size and gifts of AJ.

Given your track record of predictions (the worst on any boxing site at any time in history) I'll take that as a good sign.

You can't compare them that way.

Wilder's style is completely different to Vitali. He doesn't try to win every moment the way Vitali does, he is looking for a chance to KO his opponents

I merely made a comparison in the sense that Wilder should have been looking to make a statement and improve on the best defeat of Arreola. He didn't and couldn't.

Well he did hurt Arreola more than Vitali, he stopped him quicker and beat the fight out of him unlike Vitali.

How good Wilder is or not can't be measured on his all-around skills. He isn't an all-around fighter, he is a KO puncher. He will never look as 'good' as AJ or Povetkin but he might KO them both

Arreola doesn't have any fight left in him mate. He's been busted for years.

I really felt that if Wilder was with it, he would have sized the guy up and taken him out, unconscious, in 2-3, tops.

Haye would have. AJ would have.

I don't really care about his lack of all-round game. If ever a fighter was made for being brutally, highlight reel KO'd, it was this shot, diminished, tired and broken-down version of Arreola.

And yet...Wilder...just sort of got done what a guy of his youth and power would have been expected to do if he was fighting that Arreola in his fifth or sixth outing.

I don't care about Wilder one way or the other, but if he is a KO artist, I would have liked to have seen him starch Arreola, as proof of this.

It's not like Kovalev vs Chimbumba, where the guy had a chin, no real miles on the clock, and was awkward and tough.

A guy like Arreola should not even have been getting Wilder onto the ropes.

There's been no advancement with Wilder, and, worst of all, it seems there is no capacity for add-ons or improvements.

Wilder isnt nearly as good as he thinks he is. Arreola is taylor made for Wilder, is shot, and never really takes fights seriously anyways. That fight told us nothing. Actually, it tells me that many in the heavyweight division can beat him. Hes way too sloppy.
