wow! showtime deserves credit. they are the only reason i can think a fight like this would happen in this day and age. showtime must have turned the screws.
It's the sad reality black American boxers are in. They don't have the built in following of Latinos or the gullible crowds like British fighters.
Doesn't Help when the Likes of Bob Arum Blatantly NEGLECTS Black Fighters, as he Did w/Floyd, Rigondeaux and Will Likely Do w/Terrance Crawford, Before Looooooong... REED:kidcool:
Arum is attempting to avoid the same mistake with Crawford, that is why he's fighting on PPV saturday. mayweather jr wanted to fight on PPV for a few years prior to the gatti fight and arum didnt make it happen. who are you picking in this matchup, reed? charlo or williams?
Crawford-Postol is on PPV???:scratcher:... Intriguing Matchup, but Certainly NOT PPV Worthy...This Shit'll Do WORSE #'s than GGG-Lemiuex, Easily...REED Wonders if This Shit'll Even Do 100 Grand, in Buys... If Arum's SMART, he'll Pony Up Enough Money to Convince Manny Pacquiao to Face Crawford, Early 2017...When Your Cash Cow is On his Way Out, You Set Up a "Changing of the Guard" Fight, to Get Your Up and Comer Some SHINE... REED Hasn't Seen Enough of Julian Williams to Form an Opinion, as of Yet...REED Can't Say he's Been WOW'ed by the Charlo Brother, Either...Good, Hardworking Fighters, but NATHAN Special or Particularly Memorable about Them...REED'll Check Out Some Footage and Make a Prediction Before Fightnight... REED:mj:
Williams is a lot quicker and more fluid than Jermall and figures to consistently beat him to the punch. Charlo's only edge is that he's probably a heavier puncher.... but Williams is a sharper puncher due to his handspeed.
Right or wrong, there doesn't seem to be as much money in it, across the board. Yes there are glaring exceptions, but in terms of moving tickets etc, you can move more for the likes of some Ukrainian fresh off the boat with a spurious bronze medal or the likes of a Crapnelo. The economics of boxing do not appear to favour black boxers, I say that as a general rule rather than as an absolute. I mean, if Wilder were Mexican, he'd be massive.
Only black fighter who prob has the look and charisma to become a crossover star is Thurman. Problem is, Thurman isn't good enough to be a star. Spence has the style and talent to become a star, but I fear he's too humble and soft spoken.
