REED WANTS Conor McGregor to Win, but Simply CANNOT Fathom What He Can Do DIFFERENTLY, to Come Out Victorious...

Attack Diaz's Lead Leg, as dos Anjos Did???...Conor's Always Been MORE of a Torso/Head Striker, from What REED's Seen...Diaz will Be in MUCH Better Condition, is Still the BIGGER Man and Has Shown he Can TAKE Conor's BEST, While Conor CANNOT Take Diaz's Best...

And If/When the Bout Gets to the Ground, Diaz will OWN McGregor...

    Again...

    Good Point...

McGregor's Got BETTER Handspeed and Wheels than Diaz, by a Good Margin...It Wouldn't Be Exciting, Necessarily, but Conor Could Conceivably Stick, Move and Drop the Occasional Leg Kick on Diaz, in Route to a 3 Round Decision...

    AgDURANEED.

McGregor has the death-touch in the featherweight division, but not so much in the lightweight. Diaz, essentially a boxing and Brasilian Jiu-Jitsu specialist, shut down McGregor’s game after McGregor faded.

Everything from McGregor in the first fight was a big play. McGregor spent his energy on 2 main things in that fight:
    1) spinning kicks, 2) left-hand kill shots.

Out of the entire striking repertoire, spinning kicks cost the most energy–throwing them and being ineffective with them is the most inefficient use of energy possible.
The next biggest inefficiency is loading up on kill shots and missing it repeatedly.
While McGregor only missed two (big) spinning kicks in the first round, I lost count on how many left hands he missed. Fucking loads.

In the second round, McGregor again threw four more spinning kicks that didn’t do much, but was finding the mark on the left early in the round. Half way throughout the round, McGregor started to lose his footing, indicating strong signs of fatigue. That’s when he got tagged by Diaz, and that’s why he went for a takedown against the superior grappler.

It Wouldn't Be the Biggest MMA Upset Ever, Obviously, But REED Will Be Pretty Fucking SHOCKED if McGregor Wins...

REED Isn't Sure Who's CRAZIER; McGregor for Wanting an Immediate RE, or Dana White, for ALLOWING this to Happen...Given What's Happened to Ronda Rousey, Then Holly Holm, Weidman, Then Rockhold, Not to Mention Jon Jones' REPEATED Failures, REED Wouldn't Blame White @ All if he Elected to MILK McGregor a Bit More, Rather than Go Straight BACK to Diaz...

The UFC Will Be Fine Regardless, but REED Ain't Sure the MARKETABILITY of Conor McGregor Can Withstand ANOTHER Stoppage Loss to Nate Diaz...Particularly Early Doors...And REED Ain't Soooooo Sure McGregor Can Cut All the Way Back DOWN to '45, Either...So Even the Bailout Plan is SHAKY...

But That's Why You've Gotta Loooooooooooooooove Conor, @ the End of the Day...He's TRULY Willing to Risk it All...No NUTS, No GLORY...

    Good post.

McGregor did a Rousey and fought to impressively win rather than to win. I'm curious about the adjustments he makes in the rematch. I think McGregor can win fighting stupid, but he's already proven he can lose fighting stupid. Diaz figures to have a lot of confidence and count on his stamina to pile it on late.

The UFC really never milks out a champ or a big fighter. They keep pressure on their top fighters by throwing tough fight after tough fight at them, often having a 'hot' fighter cut in line because that's what the fans want, but never shutting out a deserving challenger for very long at all.

Anyway I'll have a lazy hundred on Diaz by submission if I can find decent odds.

I think McGregor sorta quit in the first fight going for the takedown and giving up his back, and feel he doesn't really like getting hit on the chin by a decent puncher. Plus I also think that he knew he'd get binned from the initial rematch and didn't turn up to that presser because he didn't actually feel ready and wanted out. But that's speculation.

The only way this will work for McGregor is if Diaz just comes at him all confident and wild, allowing him to play his natural counter game and maybe catch Diaz with a few meaty ones on the button that he doesn't see coming. He'd be advised to leave his spinny bullshit at home too and concentrate on thaiboxing fundamentals. But I reckon he won't.

Otherwise as mentioned, chin for chin Diaz is more durable and on the ground will play around with McGregor, so you'd fancy Diaz with a full camp and training into 170lb.

But hey, it's fighting and MMA in particular tends to be quite unpredictable.

McGregor NEVER Fails to Entertain...Motherfucker MIGHT have Been There 5 Minutes Tops, Yet Left Fans WANTING More...

He DOESN'T Seem Any Less Confident than @ Pressers Prior to the Loss, Either...Looooooved How He REFUSED to Give an Inch or Back Down in ANY Way, to Diaz's Crew...

Clearly, he's Not Getting Along Well w/Dana White, These Days...In REED's Opinion, Conor was INTENTIONALLY Tardy, and Did So JUST to Piss Off Dana...The Pre-UFC 200 "Retirement" Probably Fractured their Relationship FOREVER, Which Puts the Onus on McGregor to Continue WINNING, Which Will Continue to Enable Him to SELL PPV @ the Rate he Does...

The Moment McGregor Becomes "Regular" Again, Dana White Will Be a LOT Less Tolerant of his Shenanigans...

McGregor Admitted to PANICKING, When he Went for the Takedown...

He was TIRED, HURT, Probably Felt his Legs Weren't Good Enough to EVADE Diaz Much Loooooooooooonger, and he Had a BRAINFART...It'll Be VERY Interesting to See What Transpires if McGregor's In a Similar Situation (Which is HIGHLY Likely)...If Conor Reacts the Same, then REED Will Agree He's QUITTING...

THE ONLY Time McGregor Needs to Be on the Ground is if Diaz has Already DEPOSITED him There, or If he's Done Likewise to Diaz and is about to FINISH Him...

I think it's still a red flag though - when hit hard a few of times he panics, does something stupid then rolls over and gives up his back (and the fight) to stop the onslaught. After the fight he basically looked fine where Diaz looked like he'd gone through a meatgrinder. Diaz got smashed a lot worse in that fight and kept coming forward.

I think McGregor might be a bit of a frontrunner and when the chips are down and the hands can't get the job done. he folds under pressure. Let's see if that's the case in the re, because he'll get tested again.

Well lets remember, Diaz had a whole 11 days to prepare first time round and this time is having a full camp. I guess McGregor will be desperate to win it too and will be touching butt with that dork in the park as much as he can before fight time.

close fight. Thinks that Nate won it, but it's still a bit of a redemption for Connor. He looked well on his way to getting stopped in the 3rd, yet he managed to gut it out, and lasted the distance. Even won the 4th imo.

I'm laughing at the Nate fans and their conspiracy theories. Conor won 1,2 and 4. Nate won 3 and probably 5. Nate got busted up good.

Is Diaz that tough...or does he have such a low-IQ and /or been on drugs so long that he´s now desenitized to punishment?

I agree with that score. He still exposed Conor as a pretty limited fighter though. Conor will not be a dominant fighter, in any weight class.

I agree. I dont see anything special in Conor. His power is overrated.
