So according to the graphic they're going to allow Conor to fight for the LW title while weighing in as a WW

And this will probably be the only card they will have at MSG due to the ridiculous production costs James Dolan is asking for. Next big NYC events will go to Barclays

McGregor should win this. Alvarez is not elite imo.

REED Ain't SOLD on Alvarez Either, but it Doesn't Get Much Better than Beating dos Anjos, Who was Looking like a MONSTER @ 155...

And Considering the WAY Alvarez Beat Showtime Pettis, McGregor Better Come PREPARED...If Chad "Mini" Mendes can Take and KEEP Conor on the Ground for Large Stretches, Alvarez DEFINITELY Can...

Gonna Be an Interesting Fight and a Damn GOOD Card Overall...

This fight will go one of two ways....

Alvarez will take down Conor and wrestle him much in the same way he did Pettis, wearing Conor down before he unleashes hell on him in the 3rd. If Eddie hits Conor with clean shots the way Diaz did, Conor may never wake up.

    Or....

Alvarez will take down Conor and submit him in the 1st. Eddie's submission game is very underrated. He won his first 5 Bellator fights via submission so he has the ability to sub Conor.

Khabib-Michael Johnson has been added to this card as well. It's arguably the best UFC card ever, on paper. It will probably fall apart over the next few weeks though, as is usually the case.

I guarantee at least 3-4 fights will be cancelled due to injury.

I think that Eddie will win this. He can hang with Conor standing, he is actually more fluid and has better footwork.

If it goes to the ground, Eddie has a huge advantage.

really hope you're right, as I can't stand McGregor.

Great card, but a bit ruined by having too much women fights. Can't wait for this fad to end.

I sincerly think that a few of these fights are only announced to promote the card, and the UFC has no intention of getting through with them. Same thing in boxing, especially in QUebec, they often announces big names and a lot of the times, the fight is cancelled due to an ''injury''

I get Conor cutting in front, but damn, has anyone so deserving ever taken so long to get a title shot in the UFC?

Khabib has beat one ranked fighter in his career, RDA, who Alvarez just destroyed. Other than that, his resume is a bunch of nobodies.

Fighting twice in the past 2 years doesn't do much for your title shot chances either.

People are overhyping Khabib because he is undefeated. But when you're fighting the Darrell Horchers and Abel Trujillos of the world, that doesn't mean a whole hell of a lot.

I was just about to say. His last fight was against a nobody at a catch weight of 160 pounds. And his fight before that was two years ago. Not sure how the hell is even #1 contender or deserving of anything. If he beats Johnson, then we can talk about something. Until then. Stop the nonsense.

Yeah, Seems Almost Toooooooooooooo GOOD to Be True...

    McGregor vs Alvarez
    Woodley vs Wonder Boy
Joanna (Who's VERY Entertaining to Watch) vs an Undefeated Chick
    Weidman vs Romero
    Cowboy vs Gastellum
    Nurmagmedov vs Johnson
Tate vs Pennington (Which Should Be a FUN, High Contact Fight)

All that (3 Title Bouts) AND You have Frankie Edgar, Rashad Evans, Pitbull Alves and Liz Carmouche On the SAME Card Too???...

It'd Be an EARLY MMA Christmas Present if it Comes to Pass, but like You, REED Bets More than a Few of these Bouts Gets "Postponed"...

I just can't help thinking how easily Mendes took Conor down and held him there for almost the entire round. I still think Mendes wins that fight if not for the choke attempt that cost him position.

Eddie is bigger and stronger than Mendes with a better sub game and far better cardio than the version of Mendes that gassed badly against McGregor. If Eddie uses the Pettis gameplan, this is an easy win and Conor doesn't see the final bell. However if Eddie has fallen in love with his newly-improved, Mark Henry-trained striking, and chooses to kickbox, he gets decimated quickly.

The beauty of this card is that you can lose 2 or 3 fights due to injury yet still have one of the best cards ever.

Other than RDS, there are no lightweights that have earned a title shot. Ferguson would probably be the closest but even he has missed contender fights due to injuries.

McGregor fighting Alvarez isn't unfair to anyone except guys like Holloway and Stephens at FW because they have to wait for clarity on when there will be a 145 title fight.
