Tyson is a guy who it seems NO ONE can ever agree what his best/apex performance was? Many say the Spinks fight, while others say the Berbick fight, the Biggs fight, the Holmes fight, ect...

Personally, I think I'd side with the Pinklon Thomas fight. I see that fight was Mike at his TRUE devastating best. Thomas offered a lot more resistance than say Biggs, and Mike had to keep his cool and make adjustments to get him out. But he adjusted, and once he caught him and hurt him, the ending was just phenomenal.

So what to you is Tyson's peak performance?

I used to say Biggs for years. But then recently I changed my mind. Only because Thomas offered more resistance than Biggs, and was tougher, yet still got destroyed.

Biggs is the runner up. Followed by Spinks, Holmes, and Berbick.

    Holmes.

Sure Larry had a long layoff but the result was superb considering how succesful his comeback was three years later

I always enjoyed the brutal beatdown against Jose Ribalta - and the fact Ribalta was game, took some huge shots, went down multiple times and lasted until the last round.
The full array of Tyson´s arsenal displayed.
Ref asking a battered Ribalta in Rd10 if he wants to continue: "Yeah. Hell yeah!" :bears:

    It's definitely arguable.

One brilliant thing Tyson did in the Holmes fight, and it was actually pointed out in a film study - because Holmes extending his left hand was bothering Mike a bit, Tyson started JUST throwing right hands to the body. After awhile, Holmes dropped his left, anticipating a right to the body, and BOOM, Mike immediately sees the opening and brings the right hand up top.

That speaks to the fact that Tyson wasn't this mindless slugger history makes him out to be. He was definitely thinking in there. A lot more than he's given credit for.

I'd say Berbick. Also Xplosive, any proper boxing fan should be well aware that Tyson had great boxing ability, look at the head movement for a start. The skill involved to set himself up in a position to take people out in a round or so should say everything. I'm assuming those are casual fans? Anybody with a bit of boxing knowledge should be able to tell in an instant that he wasn't a mindless brawler.

    Great topic.

    It's tough.

Berbick, I'd say. Tyson was possessed that night.
