    Both Hero and Villain?

Wolverine-Hugh Jackman. I was pissed off when I read an Australian musical actor was cast as Wolverine but over the last 17 years, he has proved me wrong. I can't imagine any other actor in the role.

Iron Man-Robert Downey Jr. I always thought he'd do a good job since he's versatile but wasn't sure how they were going to have him play it. They found the perfect balance.

Hulk-Mark Ruffalo. After the dismal solo movies, he totally redeemed Bruce Banner.

Doctor Octopus-Alfred Molina. To me his performance is underrated. Wish they used him more.

Flash TV show current-Grant Gustin. Hesitant at first as I never heard of him but he won the audience over fairly quickly and has been more than stellar for the TV show.

Batman-Michael Keaton. Literally laughed out loud when he was cast as Batman and despite all of the other attempts, his portrayal remains the best IMO.

    Superman - Christopher Reeve
    Lex Luthor - Gene Hackman
    General Zod - Terence Stamp

Mark Ruffalo isn't a bad Bruce Banner, but Bill Bixby remains the best IMO.

Agreed, except Magneto. Ian McKellen should have been no where near Magneto. Too old and frail.

Batman - Best Casting so far is Ben Afflect, IMO. Christian Bales is a close second. Short, ugly, big head Michael Keaton should have been no where near the batman costume.

Nocasting for batman has been perfect as yet.

Christopher Reeve is perhaps the single best casting decision for a superhero to date.

    Thor was great.
    Loki - SUPERB!
    Iron Man - inspired
    Black Panther - inspired
    Captain America - Decent
    Bane - Excellent
Amazing Spiderman Actor - The best yet.
Wolverine - Excellent (though a tad too tall and too good looking)
Professor X (Patrick Stewart) - PERFECT

GOAT casting: Christopher Reeve as Superman. I mean this guy was born to play this role and no one has surpassed him, before or after.

Robert Downey Jr as Tony Stark. Perfect casting, too bad they made him playboy just for three minutes and then went monogamous.

No one has been the perfect Batman/Bruce Wayne. Same with Hulk/Bruce Banner. Mark Ruffalo is the best so far, but I still can't swallow him in the role. Bixby? Nah, he was already typecasted in My Favorite Martian and The Magician to be a believable Bruce Banner, plus his David Bruce Banner was not even remotely similar to the character I knew from the comicbooks. That tv show Banner was just another rehash of David Jensen's 'The Fugitive'.

Chris Evans IS Steve Rogers/Captain America. It will be hard to find someone else to replace him.

I grew up with Cesar Romero as the Joker and he was perfect for the kind of tone of those times. Nicholson is such a great actor that he portrayed the best incarnation of the comicbook Joker. Ledger's performance is legendary, BUT Nolan's Joker was irrecognizable to me. The whole anarchist angle and scars was a nice reinvention, but his looks ultimately were closer to Erik Draven The Crow than the Batman nemesis who was interested in getting power and wealth at any cost.

He does well but I could see someone else playing that role. He's too small in the first place.

Are you serious? This from the guy that wanted Col Sanders from the Matrix to play Zod?

McKellen was fine for old Magneto. Fassbender was excellent in First Class.

Tom Holland's Peter/Spidey brief cameo in 'Civil War' put to shame all the 3 McGuire's films.

Nah. Subjective Panchy again: you're only saying this because you love 'Civil War' and you're getting 'casting' and 'movie' confused...

Nerds all over the planet agreed with me. Look it up. Holand's Spidey was the best ever, he was 100% the comicbook Spidey from the 60's comicbooks: a teenager who keeps talking and cracking jokes while fighting and not having everything figured out.

Tobey McGuire a better Spider Man/Peter Parker than Andrew Garfield?

I prefer McGuire over that Anakin Skywalker stand-in. Both were too old for the role anyway.

    you're a madman.

    McGuire was a terrible choice.

By the way the WORST casting ever was the Fantastic Four franchises....the first being just as bad as the second. Reed Richards is one of the most important characters in the entire marvel universe...a director has to be very careful who they choose to portray him. Richards had a strength about him a strength of character. To portray him you'd need the guy who plays Jaime Lannister from GoT or Fassbender. You can't have these idiot jokers being REED Richards. So far sue storm casting hasn't been all that either.

Michael Keaton as Batman is the first that comes to mind. It was a HATED choice at the time, but Keaton to this day remains the best Batman.

Sly's boyfriend Fassbender is awesome as Magneto. They really just fucked up the direction of his character (married to a humam, like wtf???), but he was flawless in First Class.

There should have been multiple solo Fassbender/Magneto movies. Fuck those stupid ass Wolverine movies!

    On your mind.

Realistically he's no better than the third best so far, behind both Bale and Affleck. He was a bad batman and a bad Bruce Wayne

Christian Bale wasn't a great Batman, I'm sorry.

He had little to do with Nolan's Batman movies being great.

Liam Neeson, Heath Ledger, Aaron Eckhart, and Tom Hardy collectively made those movies very good - not Bale.

You're THE only person on Earth who dislikes Keaton's portrayal of Batman/Bruce Wayne. His Bruce Wayne was a lot less forced than Bale's, and he didn't use that completely fucking retarded voice for Batman.

Michael Keaton's a damn good actor, in general. Not sure what your beef with him is.

Dustin Hoffman is also a damned good actor, but I wouldn't pick him to play Superman, and neither would you.

    Bruce Wayne in the comics:

    Michael Keaton

He just didn't have the look, and with certain characters, especially superheroes, the look is important. He was too short for Batman. Plus I don't like his quirkiness. Bruce Wayne in the comics wasn't a quirky character. He was a suave playboy.

Keaton didn't suit the role at all. Y'all just like him because he was the first portrayal in a solid big screen picture. Nostalgia and all that...

    Bale wasn't a suave Batman.

Bale's not really at his best playing suave.

Bale's at his best playing bat shit (pardon the pun) crazy or disturbed (American Psycho, The Machinist).

I never said Bale was the perfect Batman, in fact I said in this thread that no one has done it perfectly yet, but Bale was more suited to the part than Keaton. I thought Affleck's version was the best so far though.

Adam West had the look, IMO. Of course Batman was written as a campy comedy in those days, so he portrayed a goofball. But....he had the look. Keaton did a better portrayal than West, by far, but didn't have the look. Affleck is close to the perfect portrayal and look.
