Fight just like his old man, hanging the left out - except without the pressure, or heavy hands, or footwork, or skill. http://www.smh.com.au/sport/boxing/...boxing-says-kostya-tszyu-20161218-gtdh00.html
I'm being a bit harsh on the kid, he doesn't have Dad's amateur pedigree - but the difference in their respective pro debuts is night and day. Daddy's debut, he blasts a stiff out within 1 round. Son's debut, he goes the distance with a stiff.
Very few of the spawn of the loins of great fighters have been great fighters themselves. I think its in part natures design to keep us all as normal as possible, partly because rich athletes marry pussy-ass whitegirls and partly because their rich brat kids don't have to work as hard.
I can't think of any examples to be honest with you. If the father boxed, and the son is great, chances are the father was an average, or merely "good" fighter. Examples are Floyd Junior, and Trinidad Junior. If the father was GREAT, 100% of the time their son will be trash.
Eubank's son has a BIT of ability. Obviously he ain't as good as his old man, but he has better than scrub ability. Hearns' son, and Frazier's son might as well have been birthed by different men.
PURELY on ability, Camacho Jr was alright. Not as fraction as talented as his dad, but probably could have picked up some paper belt at 140 if he wasn't such an epic fail when it came to intangibles.
When the son pops out a piglet in a jar, and the asiatic genes appear just as prominent if not more so as a result of Kostya's powerful testicular squirt, then maybe our young mexican-killer's going to grow some little wings? :goodnews: ps:- Do you live near Calvary?... :crafty:
You do, he blasted him out a bemulleted stiff in a round, where his son went the distance with a stiff.
Cory Spinks was pretty good. But calling Leon a great might be a stretch. Vasquez Jr legitimately won a world title but petered out shortly after
Sons of successful boxers don't grow up hungry, they grow up surrounded by maids, chefs, fast cars and supermodels.
Marvis Frazier would've made a good cruiserweight, he had ability, he was just too small to be a heavyweight, didn't have the power
If tszyu is considered great, I guess we can put Leon in there as well. Cory is probably the best pick
