Showtime's product is now indisputably superior to HBO's. The recent matchup between Charlo and Williams is a good example. Saturday's fight between DeGale and Jack is the latest. Who do you pick in this great and non-ppv fight?
using the word casually. but it "is" a really good matchup by today's standards. yes. especially considering it is non-ppv. it has yet to happen, so obviously we do not know if it will be a great fight.
It is a good solid matchup but neither guy is special enough to make it memorable. Then again, there wasn't a Leonard-Hearns in every weekend in the 80s either. I actually pick Jack. Chunky has more physical talent but Jack rarely makes mistakes
yeah. i was not using "great" as in X's official boxing nomenclature. i just mean good. and compared to the crap hbo shows, it is a good matchup. no doubt.
Its a great matchup for a non ppv. I think jack will outwork degale in most of the rounds, and wins a close ud
Not Sure WHY Everybody's Harping on your Usage of the Word "Great"... Compared to what we TYPICALLY Get on Random Boxing Weekend's this Shit IS Great...2 Elite Level Guys (For their DIVISION, Anyways) in their Prime, Putting it on the Line...And Like You Said, it's a NON-PPV Bout...The Charlo-Williams Comparison is Sound... Boxing Fans are THE Absolute WORST about Stopping and "Smelling the Roses", from Time to Time, Which is the SPIRIT of Your Thread... REED:hammert:
It's Arguably THE Best Supermiddle Fight that Could Be Made...20-1-2, 12 KO's vs. 23-1, 14 KO's AND 2 World Titles @ Stake, Doesn't "Compel" You???... Fair Enough... REED:hammert:
Exactly. I know being blase and cynical (and claiming every boxer, bar a few, sucks and would get crushed in any other era) is the cool thing to do among boxing fans, but a non-ppv unification between two very good fighters is close to as good as it gets
agREED... Boxing Fans are Soooooo COOL, UNAFFECTED and HARD to IMPRESS:boohoo:... They BITCH about Guys Cherrypicking and Taking the Path of LEAST Resistance, yet when Fighters Do the OPPOSITE, Boxing Fans Can't Be "Compelled" Into Giving a Fuck...Attitudes like THIS is Partly Why the Floyd Mayweather's of the World BULLSHIT the Boxing Public, as they Do... REED:hammert:
Yet, if they Weighed 112 Pounds and were Named After Some 3rd World Kickboxing Gym, You'd Be ALL OVER This Shit... REED:hammert:
This is a good fight. Not sure why so many here think otherwise. Neither of these guys are ATG's, sure, but in terms of what is available right now this is a quality matchup and kudos to all involved in making it happen. I'm not sure who wins. DeGale has skill and good power but he doesn't follow-up well when his man his hurt or work consistently enough and he takes too much time off, which might be his undoing in a fight likely to go to the cards. He doesn't do the latter strategically; he does it because his stamina is questionable. I've never been overly impressed with Jack. He didn't look great against either Bute or Groves, but then Groves beat DeGale back in the day when it seemed the pair of them really might become something really good and that line of form points to Jack winning here. I think DeGale has improved since then, while Groves has regressed since Froch splayed him across the bottom rope, and on that basis alone I'll take DeGale to eck out a close decision. The only result which would surprise me is if either wins by stoppage - I can't see either managing to stop the other. MTF :dunno:
It's an ok fight between two decent fighters. Personally I'm much more interested in seeing the pedraza Davis fight
Haha Chunky's pissed off with Floyd <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/n0KUuN8X36M" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
And the NEW: Champs at 130: IBF: G. Davis WBA Super: J. Corrales WBA Regular: J. Sosa WBC: F. Vargas WBO: V. Lomachenko
He's a good fighter but he's associated with Floyd AND Broener. Under those circumstances, he'd almost has to be an asshat but in this interview he sounds like he might be slow.
