Self explanatory. Post some sitcoms that ran for multiple seasons, and were popular with audiences, yet were horribly UNfunny shows.

A few that come to mind.

    1. Full House: The Sugar Ray Robinson of UNfunny sitcoms. How this show became a hit I have NO....fucking..... CLUE! If I was forced to sit through every season, I'd probably cut my wrists by season 2. The entire fucking cast was annoying, including the strung out Olson twins!

    2. Family Matters: ALMOST as bad as Full House, but Family Matters might make you chuckle once every 5 episodes, whereas Full House never makes you chuckle. Urkel was one of the most annoying characters in TV history.

    3. Everybody Loves Raymond: Ray Ramano's like a Seinfeld wannabe. What a talentless fuckin hack this guy is.

Everybody loves Raymond is like the best sitcom in history compared to the first two. Absolutely vile shows.

I loved "Cheers".....................but I hated, hated, hated fucking "Frasier". Not as bad as a lot of the shit CBS has thrown at us, and I know a lot of people thought it was highbrow.......but I fucking haaaaaaaated that show.

"Big Bang" and "2 1/2 Cunts" are the two most obvious ones to me.

I like nearly everybody who was in "Third Rock From The Sun", but really disliked the show itself.

Full House is a checkmate. I never knew this show existed, unless I saw Fuller House appear in Netflix. I watched two episodes of the original and it wasn't funny at all. Even the modern version is better and that doesn't say much.

One show I always found horrificly overrated is Friends. It isn't among the worst shows ever but not nearly as good as its praise. Flat characters with no actual personality and jokes that are sure NOT to harm anybody anywhere, all-around cheese

I forgot about Friends. Good call. Shitty show.

One thing Friends and and Full House had in common.... probably the WHITEST shows ever. I think you could watch every season of both and never see a black/brown face ever.

    Seinfeld wasn't very diverse either.

    Diversity is irrelevant, IMO.

Agreed, especially for a light hearted comedy. Forced tokenist diversity is worse than none at all.

Family Matters jumped the shark like a thousand times. It started off as a family sitcom then turns into this sci-fi with Urkel magically turning himself into Bruce Lee and doing time travel.

Friends is Sanford & Son compared to Full House.

Family Matters jumped the shark because nobody in the family outside of Carl was remotely interesting.

And even Carl wasn't very funny. Not remotely as funny as Uncle Phil, for example.

Diversity isn't irrelevant at all. When your jokes literally appeal to only ONE demographic, then that show isn't gonna be funny to everybody.

Black/brown people can't relate to or "get" the comedy on Seinfeld AT ALL.

Whereas a sitcom like Married With Children was just UNIVERSALLY funny. And MWC did incorporate some black characters in episodes, despite being an all white main cast.

Same with All in The Family, which of course, The Jeffersons spun off from.

    FUCKA SEINFELD!

No. I think it is good. I was bringing it up as an opposite example.

It is. Vulgarity masquerading as edgy humor. The laugh tracks are required so you know when something is supposed to be funny.

No. I've only seen two(ish) episodes but I'm pessimistically confident seeing more would not change my mind.
