She Made FEEBLE Attempts at Clutching Onto Nunes' Arms, as She Got Drilled...

    To No Avail....

But, to Ronda's Credit, She Showed a GOOD Chin...Got Pounded Unmercifully, yet Never Hit the Canvas...

This is the pain that follows when the UFC hype machine goes out of control. Trying to make Rhonda out as something that she wasnt.

Holm would need to stay off the ground, no doubt. But if she kept it a striking match, i think Holm would outbox her and possibly kick her head off.

Yeah...all this talk about her beating up UFC men and boxers. This needed to happen.

Nunes would take it to the ground. Holm is clueless there.

Yep. Kinda sad. She bought into the hype and paid the price for it. Mean faces dont make you a good fighter.

It's Doubtful Any Version of Rousey EVER Beats Any Version of Amanda Nunes, but Due to the LACK of Genuine FORESIGHT Behind their Matchmaking, UFC Put THE WORST Possible Version of Ronda Rousey in the Cage w/THE Most Confident Version of Amanda Nunes we've Ever Seen...And we Saw what we Saw...

The ONLY Explanation for the Timing of this Match is UFC Wanted to Move On from Ronda, Which DOESN'T Make Financial Sense...Again, there's STILL Plenty of Women Ronda Could Beat, Even AFTER Last Night...Nonetheless, UFC Put her In OVER her Head, and Ronda Drowned...

    Again...

I agree. They still could have made tons of money off of her, building her back up. Curious if she was insisting on forcing her way back to the top.

By the way. I was very impressed by that thug Garbrandt. Not a fan of his attitude, but the guys striking and wrestling are on point. He also seems to be a very game fighter.

As INSECURE, BROKEN and VULNERABLE as Ronda Looked and Sounded, Since the Holm Loss, REED Doubts VERY Seriously She INSISTED on Facing Nunes, an Immediate Title Shot, or Anything of the Sort...

And Even if She Did, Dana White's NEVER had a Problem Forcing his Fighters Onto an Alternate Path, After they've Called Someone Else Out...Typically, UFC Does what's Best for BUSINESS...But Putting Ronda in there w/Nunes, w/NO Confidence Builder in between, was a PISS POOR Business Move...

What Makes him a "Thug"???...Because he Talks Tough and is Overly Tatted???:dunno:...

Anyways, agREED on Being Impressed...Only a PRIME Uriah Faber has Looked Impressive Against Dominick Cruz, and that was @ a LOWER Weight...Garbrandt Looked Good @ Dominick's BEST Weight...Bouncing Cruz Off the Canvas as he did, Late in the Fight, Confirms that Garbrandt has LEGIT Power for a Little Dude...

Dillashaw's More SKILLED and DYNAMIC, but he'd Better NOT Get Hit Often, Cause Garbrandt Can Crack...

It may have been an act, i'm just not a fan of the foul mouthed, street fighter persona hurling insults that turns it more into a sideshow.

You DO Realize that's the Way MOST Fighters Genuinely Are, Right???...When PROVOKED or Put Into a Situation of Having to SPEAK on a Potential Opponent or Bout, Us as Fans and/or Media SHOULDN'T Necessarily Expect Fighters to Be Complimentary, Cordial or Gentlemanly...

It's NOT as Easy as it Seems, to Punch People in the Face for a LIVING, yet Morph Into Mr. Nice Guy, On Cue...Especially for a Guy like Garbrandt, who's NEW to Co-Main Event and World Title Level Attention...But He'll Get "Better", ie., More PROFESSIONAL @ it, as his Career Progresses...

And Honestly, Garbrandt was VERY Respectful to Cruz, the Moment the Bout was Over AND In his Post Fight Interviews...WASN'T Rubbing it in Cruz's Face @ All...

It looked like Ronda had never been in a fight once in her life. Appeared inept and CLUELESS on how to block, parry, or slip blows. And once she took a couple clean ones, you could almost FEEL that it was over right then and there.

I think she's done with fighting. Nothing more to gain from that.

The problem with going the 'building her back up' route is that if she loses before she is built back up, everyone loses huge. Ronda just made at least $3 million. Despite what happened last night, I don't really consider that to be a loss in some of the most important ways. The UFC probably had their biggest card of 2016. I doubt they consider that to be a loss.

One other advantage of doing it this way is that now Ronda is in position to be one of the best comeback stories in the history of sports. If she gets back to the top after these last two fights, she will be an icon. It won't happen, but if it did...

Yeah that definitely wont happen. The blueprint is painfully obvious to beat Rousey, and everyone will take advantage of it.
Besides, she will be even more afraid of punches than Lesnar was.

    disagREED...

"The Return of Ronda Rousey" Does BIG Numbers for UFC, Regardless WHO She's Fighting...Even if a Lesser Girl Disposed of her Similarly (Which is HIGHLY Doubtful), the GENERATED Money Wouldn't Be Any Different than it Will Be, After the Nunes Affair...Nobody Tuned In Because Ronda was Facing Nunes or Because She Was Fighting for the Title...They Tuned in Because it was "The Return of Ronda Rousey", Period...

The Return Fight was a NO LOSE Situation for UFC, but Ronda LOSING that Return Fight PERMANENTLY Affected UFC's Ability to Market Her...Hell, they Could've Signed Rousey-Tate III Prior to Meisha Signing to Face Raquel Pennington and Subsequently Retiring...Or, They Could've Found Any Number of Other UNDERSIZED Women, Devoid of Legit Striking Ability, that Ronda Could've Exorcised her Holly Holm DEMONS Against...

The MOMENT Nunes-Rousey was Announced, REED Questioned UFC's Logic...

This seems fine. They got their big title fight and big event and Nunes gets boosted up a lot now. People are going to care more about seeing this violent chick than usual especially compared to whoever is the straweight champion

REED has THE Utmost Respect for Amanda Nunes' Prowess and Acumen as Both an Athlete AND Fighter...

Having Said That, the Ability to HEADLINE PPV's and Become THE FACE of the Company is Something Nunes Wasn't Blessed w/...She LACKS the Look to Make the Casual MALE MMA Fan Take Notice, and English Being her 2nd Language HAMPERS her Ability to Resonate w/Mainstream American Media...

All Bullshit Aside, Nunes is a MANLY, HARDCORE Lesbian...SLIGHTLY More Feminine than Cris Cyborg (who ALLEGEDLY Isn't Even Gay), but Barely...Soooo, Don't Hold Your Breath Waiting for Sports Illustrated to Call about their Swimsuit Issue, ESPN the Magazine to Call about their "Body" Edition or Mainstream, American Talk Shows to Knock Nunes' Door Down w/Invites...Even Ellen Degeneres, Herself a Lesbian, Likely has ZERO Interest in Bringing Amanda Nunes on her Show..

Ronda Rousey was the PERFECT Package to Launch Women's MMA...& If Another Hottie DOESN'T Surface @ Some Point, that Could HURT the Women's Side of the Game...REED Loooooooooooooves the WNBA, yet 99% of Male Sports Fans Don't...Because There's NOfuckingEYE CANDY...

Not FAIR to a Fighter of Nunes' Talents, but it IS What it Is...

Was just re watching the fight...

Ronda was trying repeatedly to clinch actually. In fact that was when she got hit with the most damaging shots. In attempting to clinch it left herself open coming in, and when Nunes escaped from the clinch attempts. Nunes was doing something very smart (probably trained on this over and over)..every time Ronda tried a clinch, she'd immediately react to it and push her off and then fire back immediately with punches as Ronda was recovering from the push. Basically, what I'm saying....is that.....there was nothing Ronda could have done to win this fight.

The problem with women in physical aggressive sports...is that to be successful in them you typically have to be built like a man. All in all...each gender's primary purpose is to be attractive to the other. Sports makes men more attractive to women...but the reverse isn't true...in fact it's the opposite.

Women should stick to sports like figure skating, tennix and others that don't require them to be butch to be successful.

    Manly butch bitches...

Ive been impressed by Garbrandt ever since I saw him destroy Ahlmeda. Ahlmeda was himself a young promising and very exciting fighter on the come up and having seen Ahlmeda's previous fight which was a win by impressive KO I tuned in to see him against Garbrandt. Garbrandt just dominated and KO'd Alhmeda with some of the best boxing skills I've ever seen on an MMA fighter. It was less apparent in the Cruz fight but Garbrandt has outstanding boxing skill.

Only caught the second half of the Cruz fight but from what I saw Garbrandt seemed to beat Cruz at his own game which was more being elusive and hard to hit while catching Cruz with counters and showing a huge advantage in punching power. I'm a fan and can care less about talking smack when it's obviously just done for show. After the fight Garbrandt was very respectful and praising of Cruz whereas guys like Nate Diaz and Connor MacGregor talk shit because they're full time dicks or at least in Connor's case he has to keep up his phony aura of being one because I don't think it's genuine.
