Berto was arguably the most overrated and overprotected titleholder in the sport when Ortiz beat him. It's not like it was a huge upset either, I saw it as a 50/50 fight, I knew Ortiz would win if he could keep his head together. Berto is simply not very good.

Irrelevant. Berto knocked him down pretty viciously and he got up to win.

Ortiz could go either way. On his back or on his face.

    Steroids.

Since when did you care so much about flaky guys getting off the floor to win and resurrect their career?

    Pretty fucking selective.

I'm just reminding Z how Ortiz was perceived after the Berto fight. Most were pretty high on Ortiz after that. I'm not down with some of the re-writing that happens around these parts.

    But yeah, steroids for sure.

Berto is Shane Mosley-Lite, a speedy slugger sort. Good fighter, average champion.

I agree totally. Not really relevant to my point, but I agree.

Floyd fans are to blame for the hyping of Ortiz. Nobody was saying Berto was any good before that fight. It's just not impressive to me to beat Berto. Just because he had to pull himself off the canvas to do it shouldn't make it any more impressive. But hey, he didn't quit this time, good for him.

Mosley beat good fighters, Berto has not.
