There has been a few threads and polls discussing some of these already but lets put it one spot.

Here some of the categories. I'm too lazy to think of all the possible candidates for each. If you want to list some please do so and i'll just update this post.

Nah. If Hatton was out for the ten count after the first left hook i can see it, but not as it was.

Round of the Year: Israel Vasquez-Rafael Marquez II round 3 (I think). Sakio Bika-Jaidon Codrington round 1 is another great round.

 

Agreed. The fact that it was a stoppage somehow counts against it being the best KO of the year:dunno:

but I guess Hatton's head hitting the turnbuckle was more brutal than that.

Prospect of the Year: Alex Povetkin maybe, Is that prospect turned into contender/world champion in 2007, prospect that will breakout in 2008 or prospect that looked sensational in 2007, but hasn´t made the next step yet?

Upset of the Year: Nonito Donaire vs. Vic Darchinyan

 

2007 had some nice KOs.

Hatton-Castillo
Sprott-Harrison
Tua-Montana

I'm sure there are other good ones I can't think of at the moment.

 

Witter-Harris may deserve a mention.

Ponce De Leon-Bautista another.

 

you have to consider the significance of the fight when chosing KO of the year.

which KO made you jump out of your seat?

for me it was pavlik-taylor.

wilson's KO over that stiff was indeed brutal, but i wasn't shocked by it or anything.

i have that criteria for the Fight of the Yearm but not for the KO. The KO is all about brutality

i misworded what i typed. what i meant was that I consider the significance of the fight when making a choice for KO of the year.
