For Hip Hop some critics are claiming Jay-Z’s album was the best of 2017 while many others voted Beyonce’s Lemonade as best R&B album. I disagree with both. I can’t name a better Hip Hop album off the top of my head but I know as far as R&B is concerned, Beyoncé s sister Solange’s album was much better than Lemonade. This just goes to show a lot of these selections are popularity contests. Anyway what do you guys think were some of the best albums of 2017 and please list the genre of music in case someone might want to check the album out.
MegaLOLz. Fuckin easy thread. The Beatles: Sgt Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band (50th Anniversary Super-Deluxe Edition) Humble Pie: The A&M Vinyl Box Set 1970-1975 The Rolling Stones: Their Satanic Majesties Request (50th Anniversary) Queen: News Of The World (40th Anniversary Edition) Oh wait, I just saw that you posted....you typed, , Jay-Z and Beyonce in a ´Best Albums Of a Year´ thread...oh....ohhh....hahahahaha...er....ahhhhahahahahah!! (I think I heard a toilet flush)
I bet I have heard a lot of albums released in 2017, but I am hard-pressed to name one. This is a good album though: Lotta Sea Lice by Kurt Vile and Courtney Barnett
Yeah you may have saw I had them in the thread but it’s pretty obvious you didn’t read what I wrote, otherwise you would have noticed I was critical of both albums being in most media critic’s AOTY. Also LOL at picking a bunch of all time great 70’s artists rereleased/greatest hits 70’s albums as your picks for albums of the year. That’s some hilarious trolling right there.
They are all GREAT albums!! And if they´ve been re-issued in 2017 (and lets face it, how important or good or interesting has music been for the last 10 years?) then they count!
i think the only albums i really kept on top of in 2017 were the latest by Guttermouth and Frenzal Rhomb
I have to be honest, I didn't really find any albums I loved this year. There was some bits and bobs that made it into Spotify rotation.... jlin, shabazz palaces, oumou sangare, idles, I.l.y's, bjork, visible cloaks, sun kil moo. But no whole albums I loved. It's probably out there hiding, I usually find it a year after the fact by chance
Their double-live album is insane: I know this is a 2017 Best Albums thread but really, because music is so shit now...go fuck yo motha.
