Only four bouts in his record, but is already getting lot of buzz for his awesome speed, lightning reflexes, accuracy and Benitez-like defense skills! Oh and he can punch too!
I wonder how good he'll be though once he starts gassing. I've seen him blowing early on and gets hit, as with that style he uses up a lot of energy. I enjoyed his debut against Jay Byrne who he didn't blow away and made Kelly work for the win.
Yeah is too early to know how he will cope against better competition instead of journeymen. But hey, even all the sports brightest stars had their share of journeymen early in their careers to build confidence and make them look good!
Another SKY Sports PR exercise in a long line of other, not-as-good-as-we-thought SKY Sports PR exercises. Oh, and I doubt very much any ´scientists´are ´stunned´, either being as none were featured on the video
Just as good as prime Roy imo. Potentially better, but we haven't seen him fight anyone good yet so we'll see.
First time I've seen him and I was impressed, tbh. Obviously can't read too much into it until he moves up in levels but I'll always pay attention to somebody who's trying something a bit different.
I did'nt meant he is a Tommy Hearns-like puncher, but that he can punch unlike some feather-fisted greats.
Agree. Just watched some video and this is pretty much my favorite boxing style. Is he trained by an Ingle? It's not exact, but his style reminds me of Hamed and the other Ingle guys the most.
My favourite bit was when he admitted spamming left hooks because he'd just been watching some Roy videos
He does look pretty good as a pro though, better than I expected. He is a welterweight that's the size of a 154 pounder, with the speed of a 140 pounder, and the punch of a 135 pounder.
He hits this bum with the kitchen sink in his last fight and needed the ref with a British stoppage. Couldn't put him down. He will not get a lot of KOs when he steps up the competition.
I was trolling a bit with the weight comparisons, but there is actually some truth to it. He does look good though, I mean he clearly has a legit level of talent, better than your average Sky hypejob that's for sure. Don't forget he is an experienced amateur too, made it to the Rio Olympics. He only lost to the eventual Gold Medalist too, who beat every single opponent 3-0 Daniyar Yeleussinov - Wikipedia
