Anyone else think Canelo Alvarez will be tougher against Floyd than Manny?

If the fight comes off I see Canelo causing Mayweather more problems than Manny would.

Ok that is funny, but the young kid has something and the way Manny looked against Marquez I don't think he would do much against a well trained on his game fight of his life Floyd.

No. Alvarez is scrubby. He wouldn't win a round, or even half a round.

Unfortunately Neilgro, you're right in the realm of 147 to 154, there is no one I would pick to beat him right now.

No. Manny would at least win a couple of rounds, and Floyd would have to be cautious early. Canelo would just get his ass kicked from start to finish.

I don't know where you are from, but where I am from people don't generally bet when they are in AGREEMENT!!

    Not a Chance...

Canelo's Waaaaaaaaaaaaay Toooooo SLOW & Wouldn't Pose ANY Problems for Floyd, in REED's Opinion...Conversely, Pacquaio's SPEED & Overall Athleticism (Among Other Things) is what's Going to Trouble Floyd...Pac WON'T Beat Floyd Either, but he'll Pocket More Rounds & Be MUCH More Competitive than Canelo would B...

If your singular chance in a fight with Floyd Mayweather is a puncher's chance, save yourself the gym time and take the loss now.

Alvarez might not land a single shot before suffering a Gatti-like stoppage.

Canelo is strong. That's about it. He throws wide, looping punches. He's not quick. And he's not particularly skilled. He's as much a sham opponent as Guerrero is.

Ah, I see.. you're saying that Canelo will lose to both. The thread is about whether Canelo or Manny vs PBF, though. So your statement sounds like you're saying that PBF would lose to Canelo & Manny.

Double, not only that but he appears to have awful stamina.

I can't believe anyone would even entertain the idea of him being competitive or having a vague chance of beating Floyd. He's not close to that level.

Manny is about x100 the fighter Alvarez will ever be and to make it worse, Alvarez is tailor made for Floyd style-wise. He would absolutely toy with him and anyone that can't see this is blind.

Canelo is too slow and inactive. He'd get picked apart badly. He'd have a way better chance at beating Manny than Floyd. Manny could get himself caught being too aggressive. Floyd would shut him out.

That's true too. He's one of those guys who tires quickly when he's throwing punches.

Apparently, per fightnews, Guerrero is officially off the table as a possible opponent. That's good news.

    Not even.

Pac's speed, volume punching, and angles would give Floyd problems, but Canelo's slow wide punch throwing ass would just countered in Bolivian and he wouldn't win a round.

Even if Pacquiao doesn't beat Mayweather, he'd at least win some rounds and make it interesting.

A one-armed and one-legged Floyd would still beat Canelo

Alvarez has to beat somebody worth talking about before we should even talk about this. He's done even less to deserve it than Ortiz

I look at the fight like this...

Floyd vs Ginger let's us know what Floyd vs a prime Fernando Vargas would have looked like.

    Both get their asses kicked.

Floyd gets two wins in one night...one actual, the other mythical.

It's an insult to Vargas to compare him to Canelo. Vargas was a man, Canelo is a protected scrub.

There is no way Floyd beats a young Vargas at 154.

Canelo is still a kid. It's just amazing how big of a star he is given his age.
