    Benitez pre-Leonard vs Duran pre-Leonard 2.

Is it a different outcome or does Benitez outbox him no matter what?

Benitez makes mockery of him and the audience laughs so hard their stomachs cramp

I don't know, Benitez is always a tough matchup for Duran due to his style and just being an outstanding fighter, but Duran looked pretty brilliant against Palomino even before his amazing performance in Montreal.

I thought Duran was considerably less light on his feet above 147. I lean towards Duran at 147 in 1979-80.

I don't even think Duran looked bad physically in New Orleans, which made his quit job all the more puzzling, and more disgraceful as well.

I would pick a peak Benitez to decision Duran, which already happened. So the problem is the peak Benitez is at 154, and the Benitez that fought at WW would lose to a Palomino Duran I think in my mind

You stay on the inside with Duran and Duran wins. Get on your toes and box and potshot and be elusive and Duran has problems. It's always been that way and i don't know what people try to pretend otherwise. Benitez beats Duran every day of the week...and so does Leonard if Leonard decides to box.

That is mostly true above 147 though.

Benitez beat Duran at 154 largely by beating him at close range and hammering him to the body... no tippy toes, no shuffling and dancing

At 147 Duran was a younger and faster fighter and very strong... I don't see the best Benitez beating the best post-lightweight Duran at all

I think it's a very close fight at 147. Benitez was at his best at 154 and Duran was much quicker and fresher prior to the post-Leonard win time when he let the fame and money to get a hold of him.

Could see a close win for Duran here though a Benitez win isn't surprising either.

Leonard was one round up after 7 using that tactic in a 24 foot ring vs a duran coming off a fucking coke permo
