Blazing Saddles being that low is a joke, pardon the pun.

Coming to America not making the list at all makes this list invalid.

Blazing Saddles, Airplane, and Coming to America are the three best comedies of all time, IMO.

Car Wash is the most UNDERRATED comedy of all time. Fuckin hilarious movie.

There's always this elephant in the room when it comes to comedy that most people are too PC to admit, but is clear as day to see - black people and white people, due to cultural differences, have different perceptions of great comedians AND comedies. And that's FINE, I think. Not in ALL cases, but in MANY cases.

Due to our general differences in culture, and upbringing, we have a tendency to find different things funny.

There's a lot of cultural references in great black comedies, and made by great black comedians that the white masses a lot of times don't "get", and I think that's fine, because the reveral I'm SURE is also true.

I say that because, in the black community, Coming to America is comedy gold.

Of course, somebody is gonna take this post the wrong way and get all sensitive, but I don't think there's anything wrong with the fact that we have different ideas of what constitues great comedy.

I wouldn't expect the average white guy to consider Bernie Mac a stand-up legend, just like I wouldn't expect the average black dude to consider Jerry Seinfeld a stand-up legend.

    You know what I meant.

There are some univeral funny guys though. For instance, as a stand-up, I think Louie CK is funny as a motherfucker.

I don't find Seinfeld funny either, but I never spoke out about it, cause I said to myself, "Maybe I just don't get his comedy."

Some comedians are just universally UNfunny though, and any race could recognize it, like Dane Cook or Tracy Morgan.

Tracy Morgan is unfunny and annoying as fuck. I'll at least give you credit for realizing that.

There's a shitload of black comedians I don't find funny or I find overrated.

Unfunny - Tracy Morgan, Steve Harvey, Nick Cannon, Marlon Wayans.

Overrated - Chris Tucker and Kevin Hart.

Coming to America is great in spots but Trading Places is a much more consistent movie although it's not an Eddie Murphy vehicle

Groundhog Day? It's a nice little movie and if I stumble across it while flipping through the channels I'll usually leave it on, but among the best comedies ever?

    That's a bit of a stretch.

Race and culture obviously play a part but individual tastes break it down even further. For me I never liked Seinfeld as a standup but loved the sitcom. Coming to America is also one of my all time my favorite comedies. Standup, sketch comedy and movies are three different animals. Eddie was one of the few who exceled at all three.
