I just read he will be fighting Yves Edwards January 22 on the UFC's Fight for the Troops card. Edwards was supposed to be fighting Melvin Guillard who ended up replacing Kenny Florian in the main event. An aging Edwards is still a capable guy. It should be a tough night for Cody.
Yves will be very capable of avoiding a guillotine, Cody is going to have to work on his jab and low leg kick. Something tells me his :egypt:
Yves is a crafty Veteran, I could easily see it going that way. We will have to see if age has caught up to Yves as well. Definitely a good test for Cody.
I like Cody but he is a one trick pony. It's hard to win fights at the elite level when everybody knows what you're going to try and do
Yves has been around around wayyyyyyy too long to give up a neck, though stranger things have happened........
Did this fight take place? What was the outcome? What's the story with the other Ultimate Fighter guys? I still haven't seen the winner Jonathan Brooks on any upcoming cards or the runner up Michael ??? I see Kyle Watson and Bruce Leroy mentioned on future cards and I saw Nam Phan (?) not too long ago. Seems strange that the two guys who made the finals haven't fought since.
Brookins has a fight scheduled against Jeremy Stephens in June. I guess he ran into some legal trouble because Bellator claimed he was under contract to them when he joined the Ultimate Fighter cast. Michael Johnson hooked up with Greg Jackson and is expected to fight in June as well. Bruce Leroy is fighting on the UFC Fight Night show in Seattle coming up on March 26th. This card will feature Lil Nog versus Phil Davis and the rematch between Leonard Garcia and Nam Phan. And the highlight of the card for me is the scheduled bout between Dan Hardy and Anthony Johnson. Both guys need a win badly.
