Pom Klementieff aka Mantis from Guardians of the Galaxy

 

DCEU announced a Joker origins film that will have among its producers Martin Scorsese (that doesn't mean much as some films he has produced have been duds). The problem with this project is that it will not be linked to any other DCEU film and it will have yet a different, younger actor playing Joker (no Jared Leto nor the dude that plays him in the Gotham tv series). It will be set in the 80s decade. This lack of continuity and cohesion is what turns off many fans. This comes on the heels of another project where it will have an all female villains cast with yet another actress playing Harley Quinn!

Jude Law has been signed to play the main male role opposite Brie Larson in Captain Marvel. I just hope they don't make him her romantic interest as Law, 44, is too old for Larson, 28, plus his character, Dr. Walter Lawson aka the original Captain Mar-Vell, is supposed to be her mentor. Adding the romantic angle will be too much stuff for one single film that already has Shield and invading aliens in the plot.

The movie will be set in the 90s, way before the Avengers assembled and will also had a pre-eye patch Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson). This will be her origin story plus she will be fighting the alien race the Skrulls.

Agreed. Bryan Singer is fixated with dark Phoenix for some reason. It’s that fascination which almost killed the franchise in the first place ( he started that shit in X2 before that cunt took over and ruined X3).

So many better storylines for X men

 

X men is potentially better than the avengers...they just need a decent studio to produce them. Wolverine, professor x, magneto, storm and rogue to name a few are better characters than iron man, captain America, Thor and hulk

 

Possibly better characters in a collective but nowhere near as good or interesting on their own...hence none of them got their own comic in the Silver or Bronze-Age....except Wolverine (yaawwwwwnn)

I just found out that F4 didn't belong to 21 century Fox, but to another company who cut a deal with the studio to use the characters for the films. The whole thing is more complicated than we thought!

 

Disney also plans to do a Star Wars tv series that will only be available on their streaming service and they plan to have it rival Game Of Thrones. Yeah, good luck finding a story teller that brilliant, if he existed he’d already have been found.

 

If that proposed tv series doesn't have a Skywalker, or Vader or Darth Maul, it will suck balls. And yes, how much you can stretch a franchise brand without ending with overexposure fatigue?

 

I feel the opposite. I think the overexposure comes when you have a goddamn multiverse with unlimited characters and species and yet feel the need to run back to fucking Luke Skywalker and Darth Vader. Also Marvel has twice as many movies and tv shows and you don’t here anyone crying about Marvel fatigue. If anything everyone is begging for more.

On the other hand maybe you have a point about fatigue because Marvel is actually good while Star Wars is falsely considered good. In reality the last couple SW films were no better than the crap DC puts out.

If Star Wars wants to challenge GOT they need new characters and stories not the same people that have been recycled over and over again. Personally I don’t think there are creative people anymore who are capable of making an entertaining Star Wars series and you can see that by the crap that’s been coming to theaters and tv the last several years.

I hear you, but what you propose would mean taking huge risks. Disney don't take risks. They go by the safest route possible. But yeah, I would much prefer a tv series about the unknown Rebel Pilots daily ordeals than more stupid Jedis battling Sith Lords with lightsabers. I once watched a gritty fan film about SW pilots and thought it had more legit drama than the 300 fan films about nerdy Jedis dueling with lightsabers and repeating the same famous lines from the films.
