Cotto would be ranked about 20th in terms of quality if you shoehorned him into Griffith's resume

Griffith beats any version of Cotto except for the one Floyd fights.

That Cotto takes out Emile in 3.

Yeah I'm just nausing you. Obviously I would pick Emile to win clearly, but the nausing was in order as I've always liked Cotto, and feel he gets a bit of an unfair shake around these parts.

IMHO for over 5 years, it hasn't been that easy to name 10 better fighters in the world than Cotto. He's what I consider to be an entry level elite fighter, but he literally gets talked about as a scrub on fightbeat, so I must, you know, defend him or something :kidcool:

I like Cotto but 'it's like I said before', he's a reliable Toyota hatchback with no extras.

It's actually an interesting analogy. Griffith is similar in that way. He didn't have anything 'special'.

However if you break things down to categories like power, speed, chin, stamina and give Cotto a 7, Griffith is at least one 'point' better.

Actual head to head fights of course aren't a matter of adding up points in categories. 99 out of 100 times you require an advantage somewhere though. Cotto doesn't have one in this.
